Raceparty RC Raceway of El Paso, Texas recently hosted their Grand Opening race. In the Nitro Buggy class it was Mugen’s Wyatt Beiter with the TQ and win from HB Racing’s Jason Darling in 2nd and TLR’s Jose Sanchez in 3rd. Over in the Nitro Truggy category it was again Wyatt with the TQ and win to round out a perfect weekend, leaving behind Hector Muela in 2nd and Efran Seanez in 3rd.

Horizon Hobby have introduced the new Arrma Outcast and Kraton 4×4 4S BLX ready-to-run trucks. Adding to Arrma’s already existing 3S and 6S BLX range, the new 4S LiPo compatible kits offer a more compact size than the 6S machinery, however they allow for speeds of up to 80km/h thanks to the BLX120 speed controller and 2400kV sensorless brushless motor. Building on the popular 3S trucks the 4S variant feature an increased track width and a new centre brace for added durability. Moulded 16mm big bore shock absorbers help keeping the 17mm hex 3.8” wheels on the ground in rough track conditions while the power system allows for all sorts of stunts on the tab. The wings and bumpers follow the look of the 6S BLX models, with new wings and body mounts. The ready-to-run package comes complete with a Spektrum STX2 2.4GHz radio with SRX200 waterproof receiver and an Arrma ADS-15M metal gear servo. Not included in the package are the needs power packs, charger and AA transmitter batteries. The 4S BLX range is available as Outcast vintage stunt or Kraton modern design monster truck.

Round 2 of the 2019 JBRL Electric Off-road Series was held at SDRC Raceway in San Diego, California. In the 2WD Open Buggy class it was Tekno RC’s Carlos Arredondo, campaigning an AE buggy, with the win from TLR’s Brendon Larrowe in 2nd. TLR’s Sammy Moran would round out the top 3 result.

4WD Open Buggy would see Tekno RC’s Carlos Arredondo taking his second win this weekend, leaving behind Schumacher’s Jimmy Wright in 2nd and AE driver Andy Paul in 3rd.

4WD Expert 13.5T Buggy had Team Associated’s Davey Batta coming out on top after the A-main from Xray’s Bryce Butterfield in 2nd. Team Associated’s Tyler Hicks completed the top 3 podium result.

In 2WD Expert 17.5T Xray’s Bryce Butterfield brought home the silverware from Team Associated’s Davey Batta in 2nd. TLR’s fabulous Barry Baker ended the day on the 3 spot.

Pro-Line have announced the soon release of their new line of 2.8” monster truck tyres mounted on the Raid black 6×30 removable hex wheel. Available are the Badlands, Sand Paw, Masher and Prime treads, ensuring a solution for nearly every surface and track condition. The removable 12mm hex section allows to access different tracks width and it is even change for a 17mm unit. The wheels fit vehicles such as the Traxxas Stampede and Rustler as well as a range of other monster trucks. New to the range are also 14mm alloy hex adapters for vehicles such as the Arrma Granite 3S 4×4 and the Senton 3S 4×4.

Kyosho have introduced an inner tube roll shock set for Mini-Z vehicles using the MZW309 aluminium motor mount. This inner tube shock can control the damping of roll movement independently from the pitching movement and the damping effect can be adjusted by changing the viscosity of the grease applied. The set includes a carbon fibre damper plate, composite roll dampers and precision machined hardware.

Coming from Team Associated and made for their 12mm 1/10th off-road shocks are new Factory Team thin shock pistons. These thinner shock pistons give less “pack” inside the 12mm shock. Ideal for tuning in all kinds of track conditions, they are particularly helpful on carpet to help improve jump landings. Hole size is machined into each piston for easy identification and they are available in 2×1.6 and 2×1.7 specification. The pistons fit kits such as the RC10B74, B6.1, B6.1D, T6.1, SC6.1, B64, and B64D.

The Badlands tyre is known for having a sweet motocross-inspired tread and the all-new Badlands MX tyres kick that up a notch with a bigger and bolder knobby tread that matches modern MX tyre design. Coming from JConcepts is their new Fin titanium turnbuckle set for the Team Associated T6.1 stadium and SC6.1 short course truck. Designed specifically for style, durability and performance, the base of the shafts design is centered around a .143” titanium hex size which gradually tapers down into a 3mm thread base design which accepts the standard AE ball-cup configuration. The focus of the styling surrounds the lengthened adjustment hex area and the finned cuts that rotate about the center. The turnbuckles are produced with left and right hand threads with the left being conveniently marked for easy orientation.
