Yokomo YZ-2DTM2 Stock Spec 2WD buggy kit Posted: 26 Dec 2018 11:06 AM PST Coming in January 2019 is Yokomo’s new YZ-2DTM2 Stock Spec 1/10th scale 2WD buggy kit. Based on the successful YZ-2DTM2 the Stock Spec version includes some handy stock motor class specific option parts such as the MIP Pucks drive system, MIP Pucks Bi-metal driveshafts, as well as a direct drive spur gear hub and top shaft. The Pucks drive system and dog bones will ensure a lightweight yet durable drivetrain while the direct drive slipper eliminator reduces the drivetrain’s rotational mass for quicker spool-up, faster acceleration and less motor heat. The kit will hit stores in January. Source: Yokomo [teamyokomo.com] The post Yokomo YZ-2DTM2 Stock Spec 2WD buggy kit appeared first on Red RC - RC Car News. |
Ryan Cavalieri leaves Team Associated Posted: 26 Dec 2018 09:51 AM PST Multi-times IFMAR 1/10th Off-road World Champion, Ryan Cavalieri has announced his departure from long-time sponsor Team Associated. Having joined their factory team back in 2005, Ryan and AE can look back on a very fruitful campaign with Ryan adding three IFMAR Worlds and 28 ROAR national titles to his belt. Ryan has yet to announce his new team, as do high-level drivers such as Jared Tebo and Ryan Lutz, adding some spice to an otherwise pretty silent silly season. In the meantime, this is what Cav has to say about his departure. With the year almost coming to an end I would like to announce that I will no longer be with Team Associated. Our first contract started 13 years ago when my dad and I were brought into a meeting with Brent Theilke and Cliff Lett to discuss my racing future and that’s where it all began. April 1st, 2005 I joined the ae team and a lot of people thought it was an April fools joke. This turned into something much bigger than that. I would go on to win my second World championship in August 2005 in Italy with a Jconcepts/ ae 4wd. I also top qualified my first 2wd World Championships that same year and would place runner up to Neil Cragg. Six years later in Vassa Finland, I would get my biggest accomplishment by winning 2wd and 4wd World Championship titles. My first Roar National title came in 2006 and I would go on to win a total of 28 National Championships with Team Associated. I would like to thank Brent Theilke, Cliff Lett, Richard Saxton, Kody Numandal and Sean Cochran, these guys all contributed to my racing program with many wins and podiums throughout my 13 year long career with Team Associated. With the new year approaching a new chapter is about to start. Stay tuned to hear what’s next. The post Ryan Cavalieri leaves Team Associated appeared first on Red RC - RC Car News. |
Essex Carpet Clash Rd1 – Report Posted: 26 Dec 2018 03:34 AM PST Last Sunday saw round 1 of the new Off Road Winter Series take place in, Hornchurch, Essex, UK. 80 racers arrived at 8am to be greeted by a track laid on new grey EOS carpet. The jumps were highlighted, being red carpet covered and were strategically placed around the track with the biggest nearest the rostrum. Other smaller jumps also proved popular, with two very technical ones in the middle section, which had to be taken with caution but, had the same skill set required for everyone to negotiate them. In attendance were many of the UK’s Off Road National Series drivers. But the day was dominated by Schumacher’s Michal Orlowski. He was in a league of his own in both the 2WD and 4WD classes, turning the fastest times in both classes, to take a double TQ and line up P1 for both of the two legged finals. 4WD saw Michal take both of the leg wins with relative ease being the only driver to make 22 laps. 2nd place went to SWorkz’s Kevin Brunsden with two 2nd places and 3rd place to PR Racing driver Ed Kerry with two 3rd places. 2WD and Michal had another excellent flag to flag win in leg 1 but leg 2 nearly didn’t go his way with a first lap incident. After a few laps he worked his way up to 2nd but was held off for several laps by up and coming young driver Tommy Hall but eventually took the lead and another A-final win to make it two wins from two finals. 2nd overall deservedly went to young Team Associated driver Tommy Hall and 3rd to Xray’s Joni Skidmore. Round 2 is on the 27th of January and will have more new features added to improve both the day and driver experience.
