Schumacher Indoor Masters Rd5 – Report

The fifth round of the Worksop Series once again had a great entry of 15 heats of drivers spread across the three classes of 2WD, 4WD and vintage buggy. As always it was round by round qualifying as the racing format, with the best two results from four rounds of qualifying counting towards the final position. Qualifying in 2WD was dominated by Mitchell Fiddling who took TQ in three out of four rounds, so therefore he would line up on pole. In 4WD it was much closer and several drivers were battling it out for TQ honours, in the end Tom Cockerill would line up on pole. In the Vintage class it was very close between Richard Johnson and Chris Slater, in the end they were tied on points but Richard had the fastest time so would line up on pole.

When the dust had settled Mitchell Fiddling would stay on top on the 2WD class, leaving James Halliwell and Craig Collinson behind in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

In the 4WD class Craig Collinson was able to secure the win while TQ Tom Cockerill had to settle for 3rd overall behind runner-up, Edward Callan.

Shahrin wins at EPJB race

The EPJB electric on-road race was held at the Speedway Track in Hutan Bandar Mutiara Rini Johor, Malaysia last weekend. The opening round of the series attracted mostly local racers but also guests from Kuala Lumpur and in the Touring 13.5T Boosted class it was Xray racer Shahrin with the win from Norazam (Xray) on the runner-up spot and Arman Ahmad (Xray) who rounded out the top 3 results.

Losi Tenacity-T 1/10th 4WD truggy RTR

The latest incarnation of Losi’s popular Tenacity platform is the Tenacity-T 1/10th 4WD brushless ready-to-run truggy. The truck builds on a sturdy composite chassis with a tough 4WD drivetrain, race-inspired 12mm composite shock absorbers and bottom-load battery tray. A Dynamite Fuze 550 3800kV brushless motor, a 130A sensorless brushless controller and an optional 2S or 3S LiPo battery pack make up the power train. With optional gearing the model can achieve speed of over 80km/h and the control is taken care off by a Spektrum DX2E Active transmitter and 9kg-cm torque steering servo. Waterproof components make for go-everywhere ability and grippy tyres on multi-spoke rims let the truck, that is available in two colour variants, stand out.

HIT Winter Racing Series – Report

A round of the Czech HIT Winter Racing Series was held recently and in the Touring Modified class the race for the win was on between the trio of Matěj Šulc, Oliver Havránek and Kuba Šimurda. Qualifications weren’t decided till the end as only the best round would count towards the starting grid and only Oliver was able to score faultless runs to take the overall TQ. With the grip coming up the finals were challenging for everyone as it was hard to make a clean run but with some bad luck for Kuba and Matej, Oliver would score an overall win from Kuba 2nd and Matej 3rd.

Karel Kratochvíl maintained his dominant position in the Stock category as he left everyone behind with the TQ and win in front of Aleš Pelikán and Oliver Havránek, who had some electronic issues. Martin Kratochvíl and Tono Slobada completed top 5 result.

In the Formula class Lukáš Hoch again has left no doubt about how fast he is. Ladislav Holásek was driving in a distant 2nd place, but lost an average of ten seconds each race compared to Lukáš. Young Šimon Horák completed the podium in 3rd place.

Xray Racing Series Greece Rd1 – Report

Round 1 of the Xray Racing Series Greece was held at the Fanatix Racing Track near Athens recently. In Touring Modified class Nikolakopoulos took the pole position and won all final legs with 2017 XRS champion, Diamadis, coming in 2nd after some nice battles with 3rd placed Kidis.

In the Stock category 2017 XRS champ Ioannidis took the pole position by just two tenths of a second over Zogogiannis. In leg 1 young gun Ioannidis did not finish because of a pinion problem as Zogogiannis took the win. However, in leg 2 Papadopoulos stepped up his game, having some nice battles with Ioannidis but the latter took the win by just one tenth of a second. In the last leg Ioannidis dominated the field and won by a comfortable lead posting the fastest lap ever recorded at the FRT.

The Pan Car class again saw Nikos Nikolakopoulos taking the pole position and he would also seal the overall win early by winning A1 and A2. Tasos Papadopoulos, XRS champion 2017, came in 2nd in front of Diamadis who was not able to pass the 1/10th scale cars in front of him with his 1/12th car.

In the Nitro Stock class multiple Greek champion Sotiropoulos took the pole position in front of another young gun, Panos Theodoropoulos. In the opening laps of the 20-minute final the two took control over the field and had a really good battle but a problem with Sotiropoulos’s engine meant he couldn’t finish the race. Finally, Panos took the victory with a two lap lead over Diamadis 2nd and Tsatsamis 3rd.

Bittydesign GT12 SupaStox body – Teaser

Italian company Bittydesign have released first teaser images of their forthcoming body shell for the growing GT12 class. Sculptured after the full-scale Lotus Exige the body is understood to fit most GT12 class pan cars such as the ones from Mardave, Schumacher, Zen Racing etc. and it will hit stores very soon.

Carisma Lotus Exige V6 Cup R RTR

Coming from Carisma is the Lotus Exige V6 Cup R 1/10th 4WD RTR kit. It is based on the 1/10th M40S 4WD touring car chassis that utilises oil-filled shock absorbers, adjustable camber, easily tunable gear differentials, and a 19T brushed motor. The 190mm body has light buckets and comes with a LED light kit in the box. The body itself will also fit on most other touring, or drift car chassis, offering end users unlimited future upgrade potential. High grip, soft compound rubber racing slicks, a 2.4Ghz FHSS radio system and LiPo-ready programmable ESC round out the package.

Mizan wins at Malaysian Electric National League

The 2018 Malaysian Electric National League was held recently and it was Serpent driver Mizan with the TQ and win in the 1/10th 4WD Buggy class. SWorkz’s Hakeem came in 2nd from Yokomo driver Danny K who rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Zero Tribe T4 FWD conversion – Concept

Zero Tribe from Japan have released a first rendering of their FWD conversion kit for the Xray T4 [2016/17] series of 4WD touring cars. Coming from the same mind as the Spice BD7 FWD kit, the design uses as many original parts as possible without making compromises in terms of performance. No running prototypes are existing yet but it is understood that Zero Tripe plan to getting the car produced in case of positive test results.
