JConcepts B64 series lower front wing & nose cone Posted: 29 Jan 2018 08:53 AM PST Coming from JConcepts and made for the Team Associated B64 series of 4WD buggies is a lower front wing and nose cone. The lower wing is an option to the tower mounted front wing that has shown to produce enhanced steering characteristics. The package includes the lower front wing and the nose cone on the same mould. The nose cone is similar to what would be found on a 1/8th off-road buggy. The lower front wing can be painted, left clear or frosted for the desired look, fit and finish. Tollard & Bornhorst win at Tekno Indoor Champs Posted: 29 Jan 2018 07:23 AM PST Race Em RC Raceway of Rockford, Illinois hosted the Tekno Indoor Championship this past weekend. The event was held in several electric off-road classes and in the premier 2WD Mod Buggy category it was Joe Bornhorst with the TQ from Cole Tollard and Austin Wick. After the triple A-mains however it was Cole who held the upper hand courtesy of wins in A2 and A3 as Joe had to settle for 2nd with 1-3-3 finishes. In 3rd Austin Wick was able to conserve his qualifying performance. Over in 4WD Mod Buggy Joe Bornhorst again took the TQ with round wins in Q2 and Q3 while Q1 winner, Cole Tollard put his wheeler on the 2 spot on the grid. In the A-mains Joe snatched wins in A1 and A3 to take the overall from Cole, who had some mixed mains with 10-1-2 finishes. Jared Wiggings, scoring 9-2-3 finishes, grabbed the final podium spot. Xenon VSS EX 64 pitch spur gears coming soon Posted: 29 Jan 2018 05:50 AM PST Xenon Racing have introduced their forthcoming VSS EX range of 64 pitch spur gears. They are of a special design that allows to use them with 1/10th touring cars and also with 1/12th pan cars in combination with 1/8” diff balls. Xray T4 aluminium lower suspension arms Posted: 29 Jan 2018 05:31 AM PST Coming from Xray and made for the T4 series of electric touring cars are all-new lower aluminium suspension arms. The wishbones are made of high-quality 7075-T6 aluminium, they are of the standard 1-hole geometry and are best used in very high grip conditions such as permanent carpet tracks. Due to their construction arms hardly twist under load and thus scrub less speed in corners while making the car easier to drive at the same time compared to the standard composite arms. Andy DiBrino wins at PDX RC Underground series Rd3 Posted: 29 Jan 2018 04:05 AM PST Round 3 of the Rockstar Series was held at PDX RC Underground in Portland, Oregon this past weekend. Yokomo’s Andy DiBrino had a perfect day by TQing and winning the highly contested 2WD Modified Buggy class. Yokomo team manager Joe Pillars was also very fast by qualifying 2nd, just 0.5 seconds off of DiBrino. Pillars and DiBrino would then have an epic battle during the A-main where DiBrino would hold on for the win by 2-seconds over Pillars as Schumacher driver Robert Bakoczy rounded out the podium result. Tamiya MB AMG GT3 lightweight body shell Posted: 29 Jan 2018 02:38 AM PST Coming soon from Tamiya is a lightweight version of their Mercedes-Benz AMG GT3 body shell. Made from lightweight 0.8mm high-quality polycarbonate the body set also includes a lightweight rear wing and light inserts as well as moulded wing stays and mirrors to make for a scale appearance while offering a lower weight than the standard body shell for improved overall performance. MCD tease RR5-Max Pro & 2-speed gearbox Posted: 29 Jan 2018 02:17 AM PST MCD Racing have announced the soon release of the RR5-Max Pro 1/5th scale buggy and a 2-speed gearbox. As for the buggy, the kit will include a new long wheelbase chassis as well as some of the most useful option parts to make the kit race-ready from the get go while the new 2-speed gearbox improves both acceleration and top speed of MCD’s on-road and off-road kits. Jesse Davis doubles at Victorian State Titles Posted: 29 Jan 2018 01:54 AM PST The 2018 AARCMCC Victorian State Titles were held this past weekend and it was Infinity’s Jesse Davis with a double TQ and win in both the 1/8th GP and 1/10th 200mm Touring classes. In the 1/8th category Mugen’s Jeff Hamon would come in 2nd from Mugen teammate, Tim Westwood 3rd. Over in 200mm Touring Jeff Hamon (Mugen) would snatch another vice-championship title as Ricky Kradolfer (Mugen) rounded out the podium result. Image: Jesse Davis |
