Posted: 12 Jan 2018 05:30 AM PST

The 2nd round of the 2017/18 Hungarian Electric Championship was held at the Hungexpo exhibiton center in Budapest, as part of a 2-day gaming show, called PlayIT. This event attracted many spectators and more than 100 drivers in many different classes. On Saturday the on-road classes were held while Sunday was reserved for the off-road action. In addition to the usual classes a Youth category with handout electronics and also a 40+ class was offered. In the 4WD Buggy class Zsolt Bajusz Junior and Zsolt Bajusz Senior were own league all day long. Zsolt Junior TQ’d the event but it was Robert Fekete who won the opening final. The second and third final went to Zsolt Junior and Zsolt Senior. Ultimately it was The junior who took the overall victory from Zsolt Senior and Robert Fekete.

In the 2WD class Rajiki Balint had one of his few outings in this class and he battled with the Bajusz family all day ling. Ultimately he would TQ the class by less than a second. In the finals Balint wasn’t the fastest but the most consistent driver and so he would snatch the overall win from fast Zsolt Bajusz Junior and Karoly Izsay.

Buggy Junior was the class for the youngsters. Gergo Valent, who only started racing about a year ago, was the fastest driver and after he TQ’d the qualifying he also won the race. The 2nd place went to Balázs Rácz from Armin Rajki 3rd.

Over to the on-road classes, in a competitive Touring Stock field it was Cristian Faur who finally won a very close race with the cars being equipped with handout Team Orion motors and blinky speedos. Every final was won by a different racer so it was nice victory for Cristian. Peter Loncsar would end the day on the runner-up spot from Simon Ciudan 3rd.

The Formula class was won by Peter Loncsar from Balint Rajiki, who had a tough race as he had a lot of trouble with other racers on the tight track that left no room for mistakes. In 3rd Christian Faur rounded out the top 3 result.

Finally in the Youth category, run with handout parts such as speedo, motor and tyres to was Alex Faur with the day’s win from Zsombot Kaltenecker and Armin Rajki.

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 01:29 AM PST

Round 4 of the Czech Rebels Race series was held in Prague recently and it was Simon Horak (Xray) who took the TQ and win in the Touring Stock category. However it was not without any challenge as Viktor Halčín (CSO) and Ondra Kohoutek (Xray) were right behind him and gave him a run for his money. Ultimately it was Ondra with the runner-up spot from Viktor in 3rd.

Over in the Formula class it was Jan Kanina with the overall win from Šimon Horák, who had tyre issues in the qualifiers. In the finals things looked better for Šimon, however a mistake in the final stages of the last A-main meant he was not able to bring home his second win that weekend, meaning Jan would lead an Xray 1-2-3 with Šimon 2nd and Jakub Novák 3rd.

Built on government provided land in 1988, the club of around 40 members had a busy 2017 season as they hosted both the ENS and the EFRA 1/10th 200mm European Championship and heavily invested beforehand to create a top notch facility.
