WRC Racing reinforced belts for GTX & NTX kits

Coming from WRC Racing are several reinforced drivetrain belts for the GTX 1/8th and NTX 1/10th 200mm nitro kits. Available as 177, 186, 201, 390 and 432 belts, the items offer improved durability over the standard parts for less maintenance and also longer belt pulley life.

Xray XT2 2018 2WD stadium truck – Coming soon

The latest Xray vehicle to receive a 2018 refreshment is the XT2 1/10th 2WD stadium truck. As usual no official information is available prior to the release, but the latter being expected for early November and we bring you all details and images as soon as they become available.

Kaja Novotny doubles at Lestr Cup Rd1

The opening round of the Lestr Cup series took place last weekend in Prague. The organisers prepared tight and technical track using EOS carpet which made for good traction conditions. In the 2WD Buggy class Kaja Novotny lead Milan Mudra and Max Götzl who both had very closes finished. The 4WD qualifiers were a blueprint of the 2WD class as Kaja TQ’d all qualifiers to secure the pole position from Milan and Max.

In the 2WD finals Kaja again made a clean sweep to take the days win from 2nd placed Max who left behind Milan in the finals.

2WD top 3 results:
1. Kaja Novotny – Xray
2. Max Gotzl – Xray
3. Milan Mudra – Xray
4. Vaclav Broz – Xray
5. Arnold Lorenz – Team Associated

In the 4WD class it was again Kaja who pulled away right from the start to take the overall win early while Max and Milan battled for the positions. In the third and final A-main Kaja made some mistakes in the opening laps and he would drop down the field but with swift laps he was able to take back the lead in the final minute to make another clean sweep from Max and Milan.

Copa Mitad Del Mundo 2017 – Report

The Copa Mitad Del Mundo 2017 was held in Quito, Ecuador this past weekend, attracting some of the fastest North and South American nitro on-road drivers. In the premier 1/8th Nitro On-road class it was Rodrigo Grijalva with the win from Felipe Bastidas in 2nd and Agusto Quinteros, who rounded out the top 3 podium result.

In 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring it was Felipe Bastidas with the win from Javier Brandao and Rodrigo Grijalva in 2nd and 3rd respectively while the 1/8th Nitro GT win went to Paolo Morganti from Felipe Bastidas and Joaquin De Soto.

Zambrzycki doubles at Polish EP Off-road Nats Rd1

The opening round of the Polish Electric Off-road National Championship was held at the EOS Warsaw Expo track. Saturday’s qualifiers were lead by Schumacher’s Michal Orlowski followed by the Yokomo duo of Bartek Zambrzycki and Bartek Zalewski. The final qualifiers on Sunday, with the absence of Michal Orlowski, saw Bartek Zambrzycki taking the pole position for the A-mains and he would also sweep the finals to make the double in both 2WD and 4WD Buggy. Bartek Zalewski and Sebastian Migel (Schumacher) had nice battles for the 2 and 3 spots on the podium and ultimately they would finish in this order in both classes.

TMG Speed ride height gauge & RC8B3 shock standoffs

Coming from TMG Speed are a 10mm to 15mm precision ride height gauge and two off-set shock standoffs for the Team Associated RC8B3 series of buggies. Starting with the ride height gauge, the tool is made from stainless steel, it is of the popular screw-type design and it will also fit the TMG Slider took for easy placement under the vehicle. Also new are the +3mm and +5mm shock standoffs for the Team Associated RC8B3 and B3e. The shock mounts are machined from high-quality aluminium and they are a great tuning option for the rear of the buggy.

Pelle Culmsee takes double Danish 1/8th Off-road title

Round 6 of the Danish 1/8th Off-road National Championship was hosted by Sydvestjysk RC this past weekend. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class, run on Sunday, it was Pelle Culmsee with the TQ and win to further underline his domination in this class this year. Having already wrapped up the championship going into round 6, it was one for the history books and by also taking the win in the 45-minute main final he further stamped his authority. Four laps behind Pelle, Peter Harder would come in 2nd from Florian Müller 3rd.

Already on Saturday Pelle had wrapped up the Nitro Truggy title by taking the TQ after the qualifiers and winning the 45-minute main event. Magnus Frandsen would come in 2nd at round 6 while Nikolai Lamberts rounded out the top 3.

Hohwart & Epp win at Protoform Cup 2017

The Protoform Cup 2017 was held at Cal Raceway in Orange, California this past weekend. In the premier Touring Modified class Rick Hohwart, JJ Wang and Randy Caster all battled for the overall TQ with all three scoring round TQs and the tie-breaker deciding the grid positions. Ultimately it was Rick who took the pole position for the triple A-mains by 0.13 seconds. JJ would line up 2nd from Randy in 3rd. In the finals Rick Hohwart (Team Associated) made a clean sweep, taking all three qualifiers for the overall win from 2nd placed Randy Caster (Team Associated) who would lead most of A2 but last lap traffic and a tangle meant Rick would take the overall early. 3rd placed JJ Wang (Xray) had some mixed finals, ending the day on the final podium spot.

The extremely competitive 17.5 class saw Jacob Cruz putting on a show early on to take the top seeding position for qualifying. At the end of the weekend it was JD Ramsey taking the wins in A1 and A3 from 2nd on the grid to take the gold. Jason Laurel stormed his way from 7th on the grid all the way to a 3rd place finish as “Rodzilla” ended the day on the runner-up spot.

Edgar Fiallos wasn’t messing around in the Formula class, taking the TQ and win with Rocket Raj coming in 2nd and Jason Laurel adding to his bronze collection after another podium finish.

 

In USGT it was Protoform’s own Eric Epp with a clean TQ sweep and he would also come out on top after the triple A-mains, however Matt Allen in 2nd gave Eric a run for his money as Matt took the A2 win. The podium was rounded out by Ken Gerberding in 3rd.

VTA would see Ken Gerberding taking the win, Rocket Raj in 2nd and Doug Rebal finishing 3rd.
