Ryan already successfully used the company’s engines at a recent race meeting that he used to win, and he hopes for more good results during his upcoming campaign that will includes appearances at all all major events in Korea, as well as the Neo18 in the UK, the IFMAR Worlds in Australia, and the Asian Fever race in Taiwan. Born to commemorate the victory of the 2017 EFRA 1/8th Buggy European Championship, the engine sports advanced features such as a DLC-treated crankshaft, and a rear ceramic bearing. The low centre of gravity cooling head features a different colour scheme and is a tribute to European Champion Robert Batlle, while the 5-port cylinder sports an updated exhaust timing to achieve more response in the low to mid RPM range. Arrowmax Asia Race Cup China Rd2 – Report Posted: 11 Oct 2017 05:38 AM PDT Round 2 of the Arrowmax Asia Race Cup Chine returned to the AMA Indoor Arena in GuanZhou. The 13.5T Stock Touring class draw a record entry for this round and current point leader, Ali Lee was keen to wrap up his ticket to the grand final in Japan. With plenty of newcomers for this round, Boon Yang from Singapore prove to be a serious threat. With Boon taking a surprise victory for the first round of qualifying, Ali was under extreme pressure and a mechanical problem would force him out of contention for the second round of qualifying while being in the lead. Elsewhere Boon would suffer a serious hit from others which dropped him right back. In the decisive round, Boon again had no luck with the backmarkers and would only score a 3rd place finish, while Ali would take the round and effectively locked the TQ position with a 1st and 2nd place finish. The final was no less then dramatic, the first final had a very smooth start and Boon was right behind Ali from the get-go, but with the clock ticking down, Boon was looking for his chance to overtake, and a backmarker once again came into play. While letting the lead car past, the door would be shut abruptly in front of Boon causing his car to flip and dropping him right back to 5th. Ali would then cruise to a comfortable finish with Boon eventually fighting back for a 2nd place finish. It was even tougher for the youngster from Singapore in the second leg, getting rear-ended right at the start, Boon dropped out of contention, while Ali smooth-sailed to the overall victory early. With Ali sitting out the third leg, Boon would finally have a clean run, taking the final A-main. Behind the two, Chen Rui Yong would claim a 3rd place finish, separated by only one point from You Lao Ye. The Modified Touring class this time belonged to the youngsters as Mao Hao Ran took the opening two qualifiers to secure the TQ position. Ma Chun Zhi and Chen Bo Long, all under 16 drivers, would line up in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Ran then went on and took a comfortable win in the opening A-main, with Zhi leading and winning the second final with an even bigger margin, meaning it became a winner takes it all situation in A3 with Zhi finally prevailing in the third leg and securing his first race win in the Modified class. With a 3rd place finish in the first round and a 2nd place finish at round 2, Ran now leads the points standings in the Modified class. Huang Yong Xiang would obtain the final podium spot at round 2. In the 21.5T Formula class it was again a fight between Bin and Liu Jia Rong. With Liu taking the TQ last month, it was Bin’s turn at round 2. The two would go on to fight in all three finals and with Bin taking the first and third leg he would claim the overall victory as Liu will had to settle for 2nd place this time round. Liebenberg trifecta at South African IC Track finale Posted: 11 Oct 2017 04:12 AM PDT The final round of the South African Gas On-road Nationals was held recently in a 4-day event. Following two days of practice qualifying started on Saturday with the main finals being held on Sunday and in the premier 1/8th On-road class it was Jacques Liebenberg (158L) with the win from Arnold Vermaak (151L) while Errol Warner (134L) rounded out the top 3 result after the 45-minute encounter. In the 30-minute 200mm Nitro Touring A-main it was Conrad Liebenberg (88L) with the win from Dave Wiseman (85L) in 2nd. Jason Landsberg ended the race another two laps down in 3rd. Finally in the GT8 class Lieb Liebenberg too a narrow 2-seconds win from Jacques Brits on the runner-up spot as Wayne Breytenbach completed the top 3 result five laps down in 3rd. Kiriazis & Kidis win at RCManicas Championship Rd4 Posted: 11 Oct 2017 03:50 AM PDT Round 4 of the RCManicas Championship was held recently at the Argos track in Greece. Pre-event favorite Kiriazis (Xray) took a convincing win in the Touring Modified class from Xray teammate Nikolakopoulos in 2nd. Tamiya racer Vasilopoulos came in 3rd in front of the two local heros Diamadis and Kidis (both Xray). In the Formula class Kidis lead an all-Xray top 4 with Diamadis, Maricholas and Tsiosis in tow. Kyle McBride clinches FEMCA Nitro Buggy title Posted: 11 Oct 2017 01:48 AM PDT The 2017 FEMCA 1/8th Off-road Championships took place at the MORBC track in Perth, Australia, host of the 2018 Worlds. More than 100 drivers attended the event and it was Australia’s Kyle McBride (Team Associated/Novarossi) who took the overall TQ courtesy of winning three of the six qualifiers. In the 60-minute Kyle was able to preserve his qualifying performance to take the title in front of Shane Kelly (TLR/Reds Racing) in 2nd place and Shin Adachi (Serpent/O.S.) in 3rd. Posted: 11 Oct 2017 01:00 AM PDT The final round of the 2017 BL-Cup was held at the Mach-One track in Helmond, The Netherlands. Overnight rain had soaked the track already and a one hour rain shower during Sunday morning’s controlled practice made things even worse, which caused smaller or bigger problems for pretty much every driver. The qualifiers were run on a very wet circuit, in some spots the astroturf was even floated with water, but Wesley Wiertz managed to keep his car on the track to the qualifiers from Dick Doorn and Oscar Koot. The semifinals started on a less wet track and this time Sander van Genechten did not suffer the bad luck he encountered during the qualifications as he was able to win the semi finals. The main final then saw another win for Sander. Starting from pole he never looked back to take the victory from Wesley Wiertz in 2nd. Behind the two the race for 3rd was on between Oscar, Koen Middelkoop and Dick Doorn. Ultimately Oscar prevailed to take the final podium spot in 3rd. With round 4 being the series’ finale for 2017 also the overall standings were announced and it was Michael van Dijk with the overall championship as he won two of the four races while finishing 4th on one occasion. The runner-up spot went to Wesley Wiertz, who won the opening race and scored a 2nd place at the final round. 3rd went to Oscar Koot, with three 3rd place finishes. Huge Challenge finale & 2017 BIRC – Report Posted: 11 Oct 2017 12:42 AM PDT The final round of the Huge Challenge and the 2017 BIRC were held at Huge RC Circuit in Bangkok, Thailand this past weekend. Classes run included several electric and nitro on-road classes that were run on the extremely high-bite asphalt track. In the Touring Modified class, Jilles Groskamp took the TQ in front of Naoto Matsukura and Charlee Phutiyothin. Jilles would then take the win in the first two finals to claim the victory from team mates Andy Moore and Naoto Matsukura. Chavit Sirigupta and Purisek J. completed the top 5 results. In the Touring Car Expert 13.5T class, it was Kittipong R. with the TQ from Hiroki Kawase. The first and second A-final were dominated by Kittipong R. as he took the win in the class in front of Sutin S., Tanit K., Wong Kok Wai and Michael Lo. In the Touring Car Blinky 13.5T class Thanet Sakdarat dominated by taking the TQ spot and winning all three finals. Sky Vajropala claimed the second podium spot followed by Niphon J., Punjaroj S., and Mongkol. The Formula class had Kittipong R. taking the TQ spot and Kittipong would also come out fastest in A2 and A3 finals to claim the overall victory from Patajak R., Santirat Phensiri, Surasak, and Tanit K. In the 1/10th GP Touring Car class it was Meen Vejrak with the TQ followed by Surikarn, Purisek J. and Teemu Leino. After the 30 minutes final, Meen V. took a clean win ahead of Teemu Leino and Surikarn. The 1/8th GP class was again dominated by Meen Vejrak. He took the TQ spot from Paphon C. and Surikarn. During the 30-minute final, Meen V. ran perfectly and led all the way to the finish line. Paphon C, came in 2nd and Mongkolpan Lomrose finished 3rd. The father and son team of Atitut I. and Tanat I. joined rounded out the top 5 results. In 1/8 GT, one of the most popular classes in Thailand, it was Paphon C. who took the TQ spot followed by Wisarut R. and Sutin S.. In the final, it was a great fight between Paphan C. and Mongkolpan and after 30 minutes, Mongkolpan Lomrose took the win from Paphon C. and Wisarut R. while P.
