Kurzbuch TQs and wins at Swiss 1/8th IC track finale Posted: 30 Aug 2017 08:52 AM PDT The final round of the Swiss 1/8th IC track national championship was held in Sittersdorf recently. Newly-crowned national champion, Simon Kurzbuch (Shepherd) again laid down some exceptional runs to take the TQ after the qualifiers. In the main final the race for the win was on between Simon and Silvio Hächler (ARC) and the lead would change between these two with every pit stop until Silvio suffered an engine cut at the second stop for tyres and later on he also had a body tuck which made things even worse. Up front Simon would cross the finish line one lap in front of Silvio while Luca Martinelli (Xray) rounded out the top 3 podium result. Elsewhere in the B class there was again a Kurzbuch/Hächler fight going on with Simon’s father Christian and Silvio’s father Andreas being in the mix for the overall title in the slower B class. Ultimately and with a save and clean drive, Christian would secure the day’s win and with it the national title. Source: Shepherd [team-shepherd.com] |

In Pro Nitro Buggy and continuing his success from The Wicked Weekend, Cole Ogden (Mugen) was once again on fire at the Mugen Challenge. Feeling the flow early on, Cole was able to qualify himself in the top position where he led for the entire 45-minute A-final. Cole is definitely on a hot streak with some great finishes in the last few races proving he’s got the skills to get it done. Mugen’s Adam Drake also had a great weekend finishing 2nd with Team Associated’s Jamie Grayek in 3rd. Pro E-Buggy was another amazing performance by Cole Ogden. Moving up from 2nd on the grid, Cole was able to get to the front on the second lap and kept the lead until the very end of the gruelling 10-minute final. Cole would go on to cross the line with a 6-second cushion over 2nd place finisher, Jason Schreffler. Team Associated’s Hunter Waters came on strong late in the race to challenge Schreffler for 2nd, but fell short by 0.3 seconds and took home 3rd. Adam Drake would go on to win the Expert Truggy class with a dominant performance in qualifying setting himself up perfectly to take the win in the 30-minute final. TLR’s Spencer Heckert would have a wonderful result for the youngster from Ohio finishing 2nd while TLR’s Anothy Mazzara would take the last step on the podium. Source: JConcepts [jconcepts.net] |

RDRP B64 aluminium differential cases Posted: 30 Aug 2017 05:34 AM PDT Available now from Revolution Design Racing Products are aluminium front, centre and rear differential cases for the Team Associated B64 buggy. They were developed to keep the drivetrain as consistent as possible over the whole run. The cases are machined from aircraft-grade 7075-T6 aluminium and they sports a heatsink design to further help with heat dissipation. Using the cases not only improves the precision of the drivetrain, the greatly improved heat transfer also keeps the diff oil much cooler – compared to using the standard plastic case – which results in a much more consistent drivetrain behaviour over the full run; even in high ambient temperatures. The diff cases come hard anodised for wear and looks and they includes a set of suitable inner cross pins for the internal gears. The part fits all B64 buggies equipped with the standard gear differentials and they are available separately for the front/rear as well as the centre diffs. Source: RDRP [revolution-rc.com] |

ARC R11 2018 electric touring car kit Posted: 30 Aug 2017 03:35 AM PDT ARC have introduced the 2018 variant of their popular R11 1/10th 4WD electric touring car kit. The car utilises some subtle changes compared to the previous version, such as a new carbon fibre chassis and topdeck whose high-grade graphite material and refined manufacturing process will ensure maximised flatness and an optimised balance between hardness and flexibility. The kit is prepared for the direct use of the recently introduced SRS super response servo whose integrated mounts will make for a 10g weight saving compared to the standard mount. Also new and possibly the biggest change for the 2018 kit are all-new front and rear suspension mounts that now allow to use inserts to adjust the toe settings while also allowing to fine-tune the track width. A total of nine different settings are accessible while the roll centre adjustment is still carried out using shims to raise or lower the suspension mounts and thus arm pins. To make the best out of the new suspension design the 2018 kit also includes an updated rear shock tower and the rear 42.5mm driveshafts allow to run even very narrow track width settings while the 7075-T6 alloy material ensures high durability and a lightweight drivetrain. While being at the subject of the drivetrain, the R11 2018 comes with two different centre pulleys with the standard version being a 19T variant for an internal ratio of 2.0 while the optional 20T pulley, that is also included, allows to run a 1.9 internal ratio for smoother power supply and higher top speeds. Both belt pulleys are made of hard-anodised 7075-T6 aluminium. To further scrub weight the kit comes with 7075-T6 aluminium turnbuckles and ball ends. The kit is rounded out by hard compound front and rear A-arms, steering knuckles and rear hubs while the C-hubs are included in the slightly softer standard compound. As usual ARC will be releasing a full kit, that is expected to kit stores by mid-September, and for R11 2017 owners the company will also offer a conversion kit containing the chassis and top deck, rear shock tower, suspension mounts with inserts and alloy rear driveshafts to upgrade existing 2017 kits. Team Magic E4RS4 electric touring car kit Posted: 30 Aug 2017 02:45 AM PDT HRC Distribution have introduced the new Team Magic E4RS4 electric touring car kit. The car made its debut at round 5 of the ETS back in June and it is available now. The kit is based on the all-new Symmetric Flex chassis that incorporates a new top deck and the Symmetric Flex management for optimised torsional flex. The latter is a carbon fibre centre brace that spans from the servo mount to the motor mount and it allows to access different chassis flex settings while ensuring increased pitch rigidity for better acceleration and less belt jumps. Other new features include a 1-piece aluminium motor mount that does away with tweak issues associated to multi-piece designs, new upper and lower bulkheads reduce weight and lower the overall centre of gravity as do the new low centre of gravity shock towers and big bore shock absorbers with Pro Touring matched springs. A new lightweight one-piece aluminium servo mount ensures minimised servo movement under load and the new blade-less front one-way with updated dual-joint driveshafts optimise corner speed while offering less vibrations, increased agility and greater reliability. Also included in the kit are high-precision roll centre adjusters, a new, optimised steering plate, optimised steering blocks and black anodised pivot balls and turnbuckles.
