Arrowmax Cup Malaysia Rd1 – Report Posted: 23 Aug 2017 08:59 AM PDT The opening round of the Arrowmax Cup Malaysia was held at the Kota Raja RC Arena in Klang, Malaysia. The event attracted 50 entries for the three classes of Touring 13.5T Boosted, Touring 13.5T Blinky, and Formula. The premier 13.5T Boosted category saw the battle between Wong Kok Wai and Michael Lo for the TQ spot from the get go, with the two drivers being the only ones to dip into the 15-seconds laps. For the 13.5T Blinky class it was Dino Sidhu who set the pace with 16-seconds laps while in Formula it was Eric Ang who lead the proceedings. Finally the TQs went to Wong Kok Wai in Boosted, to Dino in Blinky and Eric in Formula. In the finals it was not smooth sailing for Wong Kok Wai as he lost the opening A-main to Michael Lo, while both Wong Kok Wai and Michael Lo tangled in the opening lap of A2, allowing Azri Amri to take the round with Wong Kok Wai ending in 3rd. With a 2nd and 3rd for Wong Kok Wai, 1st and 7th for Michael Lo and a 1st and 10th for Azri, the winner of A3 would get it all. In the end it was Wong Kok Wai who prevailed, Azri Amri taking 2nd and Michael Lo taking 3rd in A3, meaning that the overall saw Wong in front of Azri and Michael.
For Dino in the Blinky 13.5T class, it was a different story. He lead from start to finish in A1 and A2, winning both Finals with a third of a lap margin to take the overall win.
In the Formula class, Eric lost A1 and had to make sure he was able to secure the next two finals but not only made sure but he also was the only racer who managed 16 lappets in both finals.

JConcepts Aero & Aero S-type rear wing centre dividers Posted: 23 Aug 2017 08:16 AM PDT JConcepts have introduced their new Aero and Aero S-type rear wing centre dividers. The dividers are simple, yet effective and together with wings like the Aero, can provide additional stability and performance needed. Each centre divider has built-in adjustments that allow the driver to alter the height in order to match conditions at hand. The parts are light-weight and feature the JConcepts leading edge wing chamfer which match existing side-dams. Special consideration has been made to line-up with the Aero wing including a hard bevel on the base for better fitment and more air channeling. The standard Aero divider fits JConcepts’ #0168, #0169, #0178, and #0179 wings while the S-type suits the #0173 and #0181 wings. The dividers are available separately with each including two pieces. Posted: 23 Aug 2017 01:54 AM PDT Last weekend The Wicked Weekend was held in Gainsville, Georgia. This year, the organisers came up with a new practice schedule highlighted by splitting the practice into two groups that made the overall racing experience more enjoyable for all competitors in attendance. Dave Leikam took a gamble and delivered a better, more efficient race program that allowed drivers more practice time with an A and B group. With over 600 entries, this split program was crucial in making practice more beneficial for everyone. From the early pictures, this year’s layout looked simple and easy, but that wasn’t the case. Every lap was enjoyable and constantly challenged drivers to push their skills and abilities to the limits. The wood face jumps have become a signature mark of Racetime Entertainment and RC Trackmasters that provide even jumps faces across the full width of the lane. Also, the wood jump faces were consistent from the beginning of the event until the end and never deteriorated like normal dirt jumps. In Pro Nitro Buggy it was an amazing battle between Mugen’s Cole Ogden and Tekno’s Ryan Lutz. For the entire 30 minute race, the two aces would separate themselves from the field early on with Lutz chasing Ogden for the majority of the race. After a few mistakes by Ogden, Cole found himself the chaser and was slowly closing the gap back to Lutz late in the race making it a fantastic race for the win. Unfortunately for Ryan Lutz, he would flame out with just 3 laps to go. Cole crossed the line to take the win with Team Associated’s Evan Vail 2nd, Lutz 3rd, Team Assocoated’s Blake Pickett 4th and TLR’s JR Mitch 5th. In the Pro Nitro Truggy class, Tekno’s Ryan Lutz was on point from practice, to qualifying, and during the 30-minute A-main. With a strong performance by the Tekno ace, Lutz would take a convincing win with an almost flawless performance. Mugen’s Cole Ogden displayed great speed and determination and was able to cross the line in 2nd. All smiles and stoked on his drive, Team Associated’s Blake Pickett finished 3rd ahead of AE teammate Evan Vail. Finishing where he qualified, HB Racing’s John Michael McGinty III took the final spot on the 5 man podium. Tekno’s Joe Bornhorst turned it up once the triple Pro E-Buggy A-Mains came around. Having been out qualified by his Tekno teammate, Joe took command at the sound of the tone by winning A1 and A2 and took the overall. Ryan Lutz was able to win A3 ahead of Mugen’s Cole Ogden to place himself = 2nd with Cole in 3rd. Tekno’s Tyler Hooks finished 4th with his new chassis sponsor Tekno and Team Associated’s Shay Brand finished 5th to wrap up the top 5 podium spots. Read the full report here.
