Tekno EB/NB48.4 CVA-style driveshafts Posted: 11 Aug 2017 05:19 AM PDT Coming from Tekno are CVA-style driveshafts for the EB48.4 and NB48.4 1/8th scale off-road buggies. The .4 CVAs have been redesigned with an oversized ball joint to reduce wear, resulting in improved consistency. The stock universal driveshafts excel in bumpy conditions but on smoother tracks, CVAs are usually going to yield faster corner speeds, quicker acceleration and reduce weight transfer allowing the driver to grab more throttle earlier in the corner. The new CVA parts must be used together as a complete set of driveshafts, stub axles, CV rebuild kit, and 15x21x4 bearings – all of which are available separately – and are compatible with the EB48.4 and NB48.4 buggies. Gizmo GZ1 High Traction Conversion Kit Posted: 11 Aug 2017 01:35 AM PDT Available now from Gizmo Racing is the high traction carbon fibre chassis conversion kit for the GZ1 touring car. Designed for higher grip and hot weather conditions, the conversion kit uses four aluminium bulkheads and detached side rails as the base for the car. The main area of focus was increased rigidity at the bulkheads in order to provide higher corner speeds in high grip or hot weather. Additionally the newly designed bulkheads move the shock towers to the opposite side of the shocks, allowing for more triangulation of the upper arms which allow for a more rigid structure that is more durable and increases response and durability. The 1-piece bulkheads and carbon fibre upper arm mounts add practically no weight to the car and actually lower the centre of gravity of the the car by moving more of the aluminium at a lower position on the chassis. The rear toe link is also now detached from the upper arm link, leading to easier adjustments and combined with 4-screw access to the diff, the car is now far easier to work on. The bulkheads now also allow for a cross brace, much like the rail stiffeners to be installed under the sway bar to increase bulkhead rigidity even further for when conditions call for it. Due to the bulkhead design, new shock towers are provided, as a bonus both standard length and short shock towers are included in the kit. The last part of the evolution focused on was the lower arms. Now made out of tough 7075-T6 aluminum alloy and made 1mm shorter, the response and direction changes of the car are far more effective and due to the material, the lower ball and the P04 do not pop out or get damaged as easily. Combined with the new lower shock mounts, the result is far more precise and the chassis kit more responsive across all racing conditions. The conversion is usable for the original GZ1 as well as the 2017 kit and it includes the carbon fibre chassis, bulkheads, upper arm plastics, upper arm balls, upper arm mount, lower arms, lower shock mounts, vertical top deck mounts, the vertical top decks, as well as standard length and Xray T4 compatible short shock towers.
