JConcepts TRX-4 Torch 1.9″ aluminium bead lock wheels Posted: 11 Jul 2017 07:17 AM PDT JConcepts have introduced their new Torch 1.9″ aluminium bead lock wheels for the Traxxas TRX-4 trial truck. The 6-spoke wheel is a straight-forward design, incorporating a triangle type spoke around the centre for heavy street appeal. The basic color is black, however, the natural color of the aluminium wheel has been exposed in the spokes which adds a touch of depth. Around the hub section, a flared boss surrounds the screw mounting area and has been highlighted in silver to bring out the lustre of an all metal wheel design. The bead lock wheel has a bolt-in 12mm hex adaptor which features a shim option to increase width by 1mm on each side by adding in the aluminium spacer between wheel and adaptor. The assembled wheel is solid with aluminium material, machined details with an array of threaded holes for the most tyre mounting security. Each package contains four wheels, eight aluminium bead locks, four 12mm aluminium hex adaptors, four 1mm offset shims and steel hardware for complete assembly. Also available is a 4-piece set of 70g C-shaped brass wheel weights. An easy way to add performance to a scaling vehicle, the C-shaped wheel weights are a direct fit for the Torch wheel set. The eight interlocking weights simply slide into the centre channel on the wheel and with the included set screw and L-wrench can be secured together quickly and easily. Simon Kurzbuch wins at Swiss IC Track Nationals Rd4 Posted: 11 Jul 2017 04:20 AM PDT The fourth round of the Swiss Nitro On-road Championship recently took place in Langenthal. Already on Friday the drivers took the chance to test engines and bodies but unfortunately it was drizzling on Saturday from time to time but it was never really wet and the qualifying could be held in good track conditions. In the 1/8th class once again Simon Kurzbuch stamped his authority on his home track. He shocked his rivals with lap times under 12 seconds and was the only one to pull 25 laps in qualifying which meant he easily took the pole position for the final as the super pole race went to Silvio Hächler in front of Thomas Henzi and Michael Henzi. The weather forecast for Sunday wasn’t too promising and indeed it was raining just before noon. Luckily the track dried of quickly and the semi-finals were raced under dry conditions. At the start of the A-final Simon let his driving skills flash and he immediately pulled away from the field but about mid-race disaster stroke and a mechanical issue meant he would loose more than a lap on the leader. But Simon didn’t give up and the crowd at the track witnessed RC racing on the highest level as in the closing stages Simon clocked one hot lap after the other and also his pit crew did an outstanding job during refuelling and the second tyre change. And so after 45 minutes he crossed the finish line with an impressive lead of three laps over his fellow club colleague Michael Henzi while Christophe Pethoud completed the podium. The somewhat unusual mid-season split leaves questions about the future of Jörn and his mentor and mechanic Gerd Strenge as the two usually swap teams together. While it is yet unclear what’s next on the agenda for Jörn he has the following to say: Today I need to announce that my relationship with Serpent has come to an end. We achieved great success together, with taking the European Championship title in 4WD last year as the highlight. I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone at Serpent and 2-Speed for the support they gave me during that time. At this point in my life things have recently changed. Let’s see how the future will be for me beside and on the racing track. FacebookTwitterGoogle+Pin It |
