Chris Nielsen wins at Danish 200mm Nationals Rd2 Posted: 03 Jul 2017 05:33 AM PDT This past weekend round 2 of the Danish 200mm National Championship was held at the fun and flowing Odense track. The practice rounds saw Claus Ryeskov setting the pace with his three fastest consecutive laps in front of Rene Kjellerup in 2nd, some 0.9s down. Chris Nielsen came in 3rd, another 0.4s behind. In qualifying it was again Claus Ryeskov who set the pace, claiming the TQ position by winning the first three rounds. Chris Nielsen TQ’ed round 4 to line up in 2nd. René Kjellerup had to settle for the 3rd spot, after two good runs in Q1 and Q2. Going into the 30-minute final, Claus Ryeskov looked unbeatable, having been the pace setter all weekend. He showed his speed during the early minutes of the race, building up a comfortable lead, and maintaining it well. Chris Nielsen was pushing in 2nd place, trying to match Claus’ pace on the bigger diameter tyres. After the first pitstop, Claus had a comfortable gap of about five seconds to Chris, who was starting to find his groove, as the tyres got better. Rasmus Skjoldborg had worked his way up to 3rd place, and was running a solid pace. At the second round of pitstops, Claus had trouble with engine and his car started to show a lack of speed. He was forced to pit again, which handed over the lead to Chris, who at that time had posted the fastest lap of the race. After a couple more pitstops, Claus was last, but not giving up, he rejoined, and began to fight his way back while Rasmus was now running in 2nd, with René in 3rd. The race was now in Chris’ hands, and he kept turning solid laps, not making mistakes, and keeping himself out of trouble. Rasmus was able to do the same in 2nd while Claus was still pushing at the back, trying to catch up. He showed his speed by setting the fastest lap of the race after his last pit stop, but it was not enough. After 30 minutes of racing, Chris crossed the line first, with Rasmus and René completing the podium. Source: Xray [teamxray.com] FacebookTwitterGoogle+Pin It |

Infinity IF14 aluminium cooling fan mount Posted: 03 Jul 2017 04:57 AM PDT Creation Model has produced a limited run aluminium cooling fan mount for its Infinity IF14 electric touring car. The mount, which comes complete with a 40mm fan, fixes to the chassis behind the motor and is held in place with a single screw and incorporated mounting pin. This method of securing the mount to the chassis minimises any effects on chassis flex. Also able to take a smaller 30mm fan, two screws fix the fan to the red anodised aluminium mount. Posted: 03 Jul 2017 02:58 AM PDT Following a first official teaser another image of Tamiya’s forthcoming TB Evo.7 has appeared on the interweb. The photo shows what is understood to be either the prototype of even the production version of Tamiya’s top-of-the-foodchain shaft-driven 4WD touring car. Said car features pretty bulky front and rear gearboxes with polycarbonate covers, TRF419X-ish bulkhead covers and camber link mounts, short shock absorbers and also an aluminium main chassis but no top decks. The most noticeable change compared to the previous TB.Evo kits though is the mid motor design with the motor and electric such as speed controller and receiver swapping positions while the main gear also made a move way towards the front end. This also results in the main battery positioned much towards the backend. Much like the bulkheads, the aluminium floating servo mount is of a pretty bulky design. We bring you more information on the kit as soon as they surface. Source: RC Monkey [rcmonkey.jp] FacebookTwitterGoogle+Pin It |
