Ty Tessmann & Xray win at Manufacturers’ Cup Posted: 09 Jun 2017 12:47 PM PDT AMain Performance Hobbies hosted the Inaugural Manufacturers’ Cup presented by Tekin at Silver Dollar RC Raceway last weekend. The race pitted the top pros against one another in four heads-up 14-minute races. Many of the elite drivers were in attendance including: Ryan Maifield, Adam Drake, Ryan Cavalieri, Ty Tessmann, Ryan Lutz, CJ Jelin, Austin Blair, Joe Bornhorst and Jared Tebo. The pros results were combined with open class drivers using the same chassis to determine the overall manufacturer champion. ‘Moto style’ starts were also a key element to the Manufacturers’ Cup. Racers would blast down the front straightaway to the first corner vying for the holeshot, surprisingly most of the starts were clean thanks to a uniquely shaped starting grid. The decision to depart from a traditional IFMAR style race was made to provide more excitement for both the racers and spectators—It worked! It’s always fun to watch the best racers compete heads up, and it’s even better when they battle multiple times a day. In Pro Truggy, Tekno’s Ryan Lutz and Mugen’s Ryan Maifield put on some classic races that went wire-to-wire. In Pro Buggy, Maifield also mixed it up with Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri and Xray’s Ty Tessmann. The Pro Buggy class came down to the final race with Maifield and Tessmann dicing it out for top honours. Pro Buggy champion, Ty Tessmann, had this to say about the racing action: ‘The format was super challenging, but was a lot more fun than the normal qualifying/main type of racing.’ Tessmann’s win in Pro Buggy combined with top finishes from Robby Williams, Mark Schroeder and Brad Bibbelink in the Open Buggy class gave Team Xray the overall win and coveted Manufacturers Cup crown. The always-consistent Ryan Cavalieri had strong finishes helping earn Team Associated second overall on the Cup Podium. Kyosho’s Jared Tebo and team took the third and final podium spot. Depta & Wischnewski win Mid-German regionals Rd2 Posted: 09 Jun 2017 12:47 AM PDT The second round of the Mid-German onroad regionals took place in Kirchhain last weekend with 46 drivers in attendance with sunny weather on Saturday. Rain on Sunday however meant that for the third and fourth rounds of qualification most of the drivers decided not to drive. In 1/8th the only drivers who were able to make the 25 laps in qualifying were pole man Oliver Mack and Merlin Depta, with Patrick Schäfer lining up on the grid in 3rd position. Starting in the A-main Oliver and Merlin broke away from the rest of the field with Patrick still not far away behind the duo. Merlin and Oli hard a hard but clean fight switching positions in the infield and during pitting. A thrilling fight with two different strategies, Oli running on a one-stop tire change strategy while Merlin calculated to not change at all during the 30min final run. The tire wear was on the edge and the fight was super close just before the third pit stop where Oli flamed out just one corner in front of Merlin. The reason was a broken piston pin retainer ring of Oli’s engine. With Merlin Depta out in the lead, Patrick Schäfer was promoted to second with Dennis Weihert in third spot and that is how they finished.
In 1/10 it was Dirk Wischnewski who was the man to beat the whole Weekend. With a start to finish win, nobody was able to challenge him. A little bit back in the field it was Dennis Sting who had a superb pace with only a little bit bad luck in qualification starting from P7 and Marcus May, who qualified 4th in the grid. In the final Dennis Sting suffered a flame out but he knew he had the pace to make it to the front again. With Dirk Wischnewski far away in the lead, Marcus May in second spot and Dennis back in third position, Dennis pushed hard with just a few minutes to go. Being well known for his tire saving skills with only three minutes to go Dennis pushed his car into second position with May demoted to 3rd, with his tires down to the rims.

JConcepts 1988 Chevy Silverado extended cab MT body Posted: 08 Jun 2017 10:56 AM PDT JConcepts is on top of the best monster truck body styles in the business with the release of the 1988 Chevy Silverado. The 1988 styling is very clean, updated, refined and didn’t display the boxy looks from the early 80’s. The fleetside, extended cab design is spot-on featuring slight curvature to the main shape, new headlights, grille treatment and form-fitting wheel wells. The slight flare to the tire openings give just a little wrinkle to the bed-sides and front fenders to accommodate different sized tires for maximum versatility. The body includes a decal sheet that makes detailing out the headlights, taillights and grille a breeze while window mask allows the user to quickly get the body into paint. The extended cab body has an 13” wheelbase and fits retro and race monster trucks as a drop-on giving the all important clearance and functionality. Source: JConcepts [jconcepts.net] ![]() ![]() |
