VRP E817 3.5 degree rear toe block Posted: 06 Feb 2017 08:52 AM PST Vision Racing Products have introduced a 3.5 degree toe-in rear suspension block for the HB Racing E817 1/8th E-buggy. The part is machined from high-quality aluminium, it comes black anodized and helps to make for a more planted rear end. The straight block locks into the chassis like the standard block, but uses a delrin spacer to take the place of the rectangle section that is locked down to the chassis. Posted: 06 Feb 2017 07:11 AM PST The penultimate round of the UK RugRacers series was about to get underway on a freezing cold morning. Controlled practice was the first order of the day then straight into the qualifying format of four rounds of FTD. In 13.5 Open, Marcus Askell set the early pace for Dean Gibbs to improve then Ashley Wiffen to stretch out an extra second to take pole ahead of the finals. Leg one went to Dean Gibbs after putting the pressure on and managing to get past Ashley to take the win. Leg two went to Marcus, up from 3rd on the grid, with a clean drive to the flag. Overall Ashley Wiffen took the day’s win from Dean Gibbs in second and Marcus Askell third. 13.5T Open final results: In 17.5 Blinky, Matt Worton would post FTQ for each round taking pole. The top 5 cars being so close that Aaron Rose was 2/10th behind after round two and three, with cars being within 0.5s of each other in round four. Leg one would ultimately go to Colin Jackson after a race long battle for the lead with Matt Worton who crashed on the final lap to tumble down from 1st to 4th. For leg two, Matt held his nerves and the lead to take a tone to tone win ahead of Ricky and Jakub who finished within one second of each other giving Ricky the overall win from Matt Worton and Aaron Rose. 17.5T Blinky final results: Formula saw Olli Payne and Shaun Batt joining the class for this round and some extra competition. Luke Lee with the title now in the bag was enjoying the close challenge of Ollie with Luke setting the early pace only to be pegged back by Ollie who would take pole. Leg one would be taken by Ollie with a controlled drive to the flag while leg two was a battle at the top again with Luke taking the win from Ollie. Remo would make it up to 3rd from 6th on the grid Formula final results: GT12 and champion elect Tim Hancock was out fastest improving his FTQ time each run leaving Neil Mottram, Owen Smith and Stuart Dye fighting over 2nd place ahead of the 2-leg finals. Leg 1 saw Tim take full advantage of his earned pole position with a faultless drive to the flag, aided by lots of fighting happening immediately behind him allowed him to lap the whole field. Leg 2 was a closer affair with Owen pushing Tim hard, a small mistake dropped him down the order but he was able to charge back through the field to 2nd leaving Tim with another win but a smaller margin. Ofir Avitan TQs & wins Israeli League Rd5 Posted: 06 Feb 2017 05:54 AM PST Round five of the Israeli League was held at the Speed Racing Track and it saw Ofir Avitan taking the TQ honours after the four rounds of qualifying. At the start of the main final Yaniv Sivan rolled his car while Ofir Avitan and Tal Siles battled for the lead. The latter than suffered from a flame out that cost him a couple of positions and at the 25 minute mark Yaniv managed to take over the second place after a huge comeback. Yaniv was even able to close the gap to Ofir, however as he ran out of time he had to settle for second behind winner Ofir while Aviv Mimon obtained the final podium spot. Andrea Simari successful at Italian LRP-AE-Challenge Posted: 06 Feb 2017 02:58 AM PST The Chilelli indoor track in Scrivia, Italy played host to the LRP-AE-Challenge this past weekend. In the 13.5T class Andrea Simari (Capricorn) would take a convincing overall TQ after winning all three rounds of qualifying. In the finals Andrea continued to dominate and with tone-to-tone wins in the triple mains he would round out a perfect weekend to take the overall win from Andrea Valerio (Xray) and Stefano Bizzocco (Xray) while also setting the fastest lap of the day. Based off of the standard brushed variants the Strada Red line-up of cars and trucks all feature a brushless electronics group that includes the MM-22BL 3215KV brushless motor, which is fitted with a black laser-etched case and 4mm gold-plated plugs, plus the MSC-30BL-WP brushless waterproof ESC. Each Strada Red vehicle features a moulded tub chassis that provides durability and a stable and tough platform for a strong 4WD shaft drivetrain. Pre-built oil-filled shock absorbers and dual-wishbone independent suspension front and rear are part of the features list as is the MS-22 servo that is coupled to the dual-point steering system that features an integrated servo saver to protect the servo against crash damage. Other features include full ball bearings, gear differentials, a moulded spur gear cover and pre-mounted tyres as well as pre-decorated red-colour bodyshells. The range includes the XB buggy, XT truck, MT monster truck, TC touring car, SC short course truck, DC drift car, RX rally car and DT electric desert truck. Gizmo GZ1 2017 electric touring car kit Posted: 06 Feb 2017 01:20 AM PST Gizmo Racing USA have introduced the 2017 variant of the GZ1 electric touring car. The latest variant has been refined to an all-new level, making it more adjustable, more durable and easier to drive. The GZ1 2017 still features the patented 2-main-gear drivetrain system, which makes is possible to have a 100 percent centred drivetrain and it features a new chassis and redesigned side rails, all cut from premium 2.0mm quasi isotropic carbon fibre. The 2017 version chassis has a new shape that is narrower at the sides and especially at the droop screw locations, which allows for a more natural roll characteristic with less chassis drag. Also new are the patented one-piece vertically mounted top decks for increased stiffness. These new pieces now integrate the option to run two more posts in between the two vertical rails to adjust the car’s overall stiffness and change the flex points.

Andreas Johansson wins at MSEC Indoor Cup Rd5 Posted: 06 Feb 2017 01:18 AM PST The fifth round of the MSEC Indoor Cup was held in Örebro and hosted by the Bofors MRK club on a quite technical track. 67 drivers signed in for the four classes offered and in Touring Modified practice Marcus von Elling set the fastest three consecutive laps from Andreas Johansson and young Lukas Knutsson. The qualifying result was based on the best single result out of three rounds in total. After three rounds Andreas Johansson placed himself on the top spot, 3 seconds ahead of Lukas Knutsson, and 6 seconds ahead of Kristoffer Axelsson. The finals then saw some really close racing between the top three drivers. A1 was won by Andreas Johansson while A2 was won by Lukas Knutsson. Robert Batlle takes Spanish 1/8th E-Buggy title Posted: 05 Feb 2017 08:25 AM PST The Spanish 1/8th E-Buggy National Championship was held this past weekend at the La Jara club. The event was held on a clay track located in a greenhouse, making for special conditions and atmosphere. After the qualifiers it was Mugen’s Juan Carlos Canas who put his buggy on pole position from Mugen teammate Robert Batlle and TLR’s Oscar Baldo. In the opening 10-minute A-main it looked like Carlos could be able to challenge Robert for the win but once the record multi-national champion checked out, he would ultimately grab a 3-seconds win from from Juan Carlos in second and Carlos Pineda in third. A2 was an even more dominant affair with Robert coming out one lap ahead of Canas despite loosing the rear wing of his Mugen. With the overall win and title already secured before the final A-main, Robert opted to sit out A3, making way for Juan Carlos who cemented his vice championship with a win over Bryan Baldo. Overall and behind Robert and Juan Carlos, Carlos Pineda (Team Associated) would round out the top 3 result.
