Samix SCX10 II aluminium centre gearbox mount set

The latest Samix option part for Axial’s SCX10 II truck is the aluminium gearbox mount set. Made from high-quality aluminium and coming in three different colours the parts add rigidity and durability to the transmission area by replacing the standard items for alloy ones. The mounts are available in green, black and gun metal anodising and they feature laser-etched Samix logos.

Jacqueloot & Van Katwijk win at MIO Rd2

The second round of the MIO race series was held last weekend and in the 2WD Buggy class it was Team Associated driver Thibault Jacqueloot that came out on top after the triple A-mains. The Xray duo of Jarno Pijpers and Bart Wubben would complete the top 3 result in second and third respectively while Sander Van Genechtenen and Stephane Roufosse rounded out the top 5 result.

Sanwa SRG-LS Black low-profile brushless servo

Schumacher Racing, Sanwa distributor in the UK, have introduced the SRG-LS Black low-profile brushless servo. The SSR and High Response mode compatible digital servo features a full metal gear train, double ball bearings, 2-cell HV-compatibility and it comes with a black-colour aluminium middle heatsink. At 7.4V input the SRG-LS pulls up to 12.8kg-cm at a speed of down to 0.08s, making it ideal for 1/10th touring and 2WD buggy applications.

Roche Rapide P12-2017 1/12th scale pan car kit

UK Roche distributor Zen Racing has released first images and information on the Rapide P12-2017 1/12th scale pan car kit. The car builds on the 2016 IFMAR World Championships and ROAR Nationals winning car and it utilises a newly designed 2.5mm carbon fibre chassis and rear power pod plate. Other areas that received a make over are the floating servo plate, the front lower aluminium bulkheads, the rear alloy chassis brace and the low centre of gravity motor mount. The rear centre top plates also are of a new design to accommodate the Rolling Friction Adjust System RFAS and included in the kit are furthermore a new big bore centre shock and new diff and clamping wheel hubs that allow the use of M2.5x8mm screws. The kit is rounded out by redesigned alloy side spring mounts and aluminium steering turnbuckles. More information and images should become available in time for the release.

Serpent lightweight 1/8th off-road wing

Lightweight Polycarbonate wings are the latest craze in 1/8th off-road racing and now Serpent is jumping on the weight saving train with the introduction of their own featherweight wing. The multi-piece part was designed by Billy Easton and it is made from strong 1mm material. It offers large side flaps, a 7-fin design for stability and lowered outer sections to guide the air towards the side dams and rear gurney. Included comes a separate inner section for added stability and downforce which bolts onto the main wing using a pair of fasteners. The wing comes pre-cut, including mounting hardware, a composite gurney and it is ready for painting or leaving it clear.

Exotek ZX-6.6 HD steering set

Coming from Exotek and made for Kyosho’s Lazer ZX-6.6 4WD buggy is the heavy duty steering set. The fully 7075 alloy set included steering bellcranks, a steering rack and small parts and its design is based off of Exotek’s popular D413 steering. The improved construction removes all of the plastic parts and bushings and adds four ball bearings and two crush shims for long wearing, smooth and precise operation. The kit includes two steel TiNi-coated bearing screws, four ball bearings, two crush shims, two alloy cranks, an alloy steering rack and two alloy steering post spacers while making use of the stock ZX-6.6 posts and post bearings. The design matches the stock geometry and also allows mounting of the servo on either side of the chassis.

Vesa Yli wins at Finnish 12Track Tour Rd1

Aanekoski R/C center, near Jyvaskyla, Finland, hosted the first round in a series of four national championship races, the 12Track Tour. The hosting club did a great job organizing their first-ever 1/12th nats to showcase the 30x16m track’s technical layout. Classes were 1/12th Mod 6.5 blinky, Stock 13.5, run with GT bodies, and a Formula class. Vesa Yli took three out of four qualifying rounds to take the TQ ahead of Ari-Pekka Kyykka, followed by Panu Vehniainen in third. Vesa managed to lead from wire to wire in all three mains to take the victory home from the opening round. The order remained the same in top three as in qualifying. The series will continue the first weekend of February in Eurajoki, with rounds three and fourto be raced at a double event in Oulu at the end of February.

TSR by Bergonzoni Group RSV4 1/8th nitro buggy

Coming soon from Team Scorpion Racing by Bergonzoni Group is the RSV4 1/8th nitro off-road buggy. The competition kit will sport features such as a chassis with decentralised motor position for improved balance over jumps, it is meant to utilise an all-new big bore shock absorber design for better soaking up jumps and bumps and the differential are of a limited slip design with new satellite gears and plates, increasing traction on all types of surfaces. The official announcement with more details and first images is set for the 12th of December.

RC Maker Awesomatix CVD and damper wrenches

RC Maker have introduced the CVD and damper wrenches for the Awesomatix A700 and A800 cars. The tools are made from black anodised aluminium and they are used simultaneously and allow clamping and tightening/loosening of the D2.1 and D2.2 dampers with ease, as well as both sides of the latest ST17-1-S front double jointed driveshafts. Hard-coated, they prevent scratching on components and will last a lifetime.

EWS International 2017 – Announcement

The Essex Winter Series team have announced the 2017 EWS International event. Formerly known as the ICC, now re-named in line with their well-known EWS series of races, the event will take place over the weekend of 31 March to 02 April 2017, at EWS’s popular venue in the south-east of the UK. An ETS-carpet track covering 24×34 metres will greet racers, with classes for Modified and Super Stock 13.5 Touring Car, plus a Formula class. The event looks to grown on previous years, with race teams and international drivers from Infinity, Tonisport and Awesomatix already confirmed to attend.
