California Touring Series Rd5 – Report

Round five of the California Touring Series was held this past weekend. The “Rehab” again attracted a good amount racers including local talent and internationally experienced drivers and in the Touring Modified division, it was Team Yokomo driver Eric Albano who had TQ set early in Q1 followed closely by Brandon Clements’ Awesomatix and Team Associated driver Randy Caster in P3 with a 100th of second separating the two. Team Associated ace driver Rick Hohwart had some bad luck in Q1 with a strong finish in Q2 but puts him on P4 for the show. With traction decreasing by the mains, racers made sure to adjust car setups to gain maximum performance. From start to finish Albano finishes first place with Hohwart closing the gap on the leader but not able to capitalize as time ran out with Caster securing third. The CTS finale, the “Judgement Day” is coming up on August 7th at Warm Springs Raceway in Fremont, California.

Bezerk RC B6 series carbon fibre option parts

Bezerk RC have introduces some new parts for the Team Associated B6 and B6D platform. First up are two front shock towers for the flat front arms. Both are cut from 4mm carbon fibre, offing a refined shape for increased strength with a standard and a half-hole version being available – the latter making for finer adjustments of the shock angle.

Also new are respective rear shock towers, one of standard dimensions and also a taller version to allowing to run the original length B5M shocks for better bump handling capacity. Next up are two adjustable battery straps with the standard one being primarily for the traverse shorty mounting, while the second is for strapping in saddle or square packs. The standard battery strap has course and fine adjustment, the 4mm carbon stops underneath can be toggled around to fine-tune the battery position by 2.5mm steps. The same stops can all be turned inward to allow mounting the battery inline down the chassis. The kit stops can be fitted to suit some odd shaped packs should the carbon stops not be sufficient.
