Infinity IF18-2 1/8th scale onroad chassis

Posted: 18 Nov 2020 07:05 AM PST

Creation Model have introduced their new Infinity IF18-2, the next generation of their World Champion 1/8 platform. Developed and tested by their team drivers all around the World, it features an all new front-end design which offers drivers a huge range of roll centre and setting options. Already proven on track with Takaki Shimo’s prototype car taking 2nd place at last year’s World Championship in California, the big innovation of the IF18-2 is that by adjusting the front roll centre according to driving conditions, it is possible to fine tune your setup perfectly according to various circuits and driving styles. This allows for great steering in all corners without any excessive initial reactions that can make your car difficult to drive. The newly designed front upper arm, lower arm and front knuckle are made of new materials with high rigidity and excellent impact resistance. Attention has also been paid to the ease of assembly and the high precision of these parts can be felt when maintaining and setting up your car.

Newly designed front section
– By splitting the front knuckle into upper and lower parts, three types of settings are available, + 1mm, 0mm & -1mm. The position of the upper arm pivot has changed significantly from the previous model, offering more choice in steering characteristics. In addition, the section around the lower pivot has a split structure (by increasing or decreasing the lower spacer) that allows the roll centre to be adjusted. The structure that looks like an inverted front knuckle expands the adjustment range of the geometry. It has a structure that allows you to easily change the camber angle on the spot even just before the race.
– The upper and lower arms have a newly designed shape that is better resistant to crashes. In addition, the rigidity can be adjusted by attaching a carbon plate (optional setting part) to the lower arm. The turnbuckle rod used for the lower arm is also made of high-strength steel while the lower arm pivot 7.8mm ball is hard anodised for smooth movement while maintaining excellent surface condition for long periods of time.
– The upper and lower arm holders are also newly designed. Designed to be both lightweight in finish and still ensuring sufficient strength, 6 types of mounting positions can be selected for the upper arm holder by exchanging bushes (3 types). The lower arm holder also offers an IN and OUT pin position by replacing the bushing.
– Adopts a newly designed wide type front anti-roll bar. By lengthening the reach, the effect of the anti-roll bar is softened at the initial stage of suspension movement. While showing mild steering characteristics, the anti-roll bar becomes more effective later in the the corner. The 5.8mm anti-roll bar ball uses hard steel with a smaller boss. (Kit is front / 2.4mm, rear / 3.0mm. 2.7mm is also available as an option)

Schumacher Icon Formula chassis

Posted: 18 Nov 2020 05:47 AM PST

Following an earlier teaser, Schumacher have now released the full details of their new formula car, called the Icon. After a long run of successes in multiple electric racing classes, including a double LMP12 World championship, Schumacher’s engineering team have applied their expertise to the formula class. The result is an innovative new approach to RC Formula racing. The Icon is designed for maximum rear traction to make an easy to drive car, but maintains plenty of steering to satisfy the most demanding drivers. The Icon prototypes have been extensively tested and raced in the UK, Germany and Italy, and have proved to be fast and agile. The car features all the adjustments you need to be dialled on both carpet and asphalt tracks.

Icon Feature List
– Full length carbon fibre chassis for increased cornering predictability and improved rear traction suspension system.
– Carefully increased longitudinal stiffness using a combination of topdeck and side brace design.
– Unique wing mounting position for optimum wing performance.
– Fully adjustable front end (Wheelbase, track width, ride height, toe, camber, caster, damping, bump steer and ackermann).
– Unique rear differential design, using our 1/12 design and special hex clamps to achieve simplified diff tension setting. Differential can also be used in Eclipse range of cars!
– Super quick and fully adjustable castor using digital caliper or steel rule, and castor chart in the manual.
– Damper tube style rear damping for bump riding and cornering performance. Unique, big bore design capable of managing large bumps and much longer lasting damping, using larger capacity of oil.
– Hollow and lightweight steel rear diff axle included. U4854 Carbon diff axle can be used for further weight reduction.
– Lipo mounting using o-ring fixing with easy loop over design. Catering for wide range of ‘Shortie’ type LiPo shapes and sizes.
– Compatible with Core-RC CR721 Solid axle design.
– Aluminium servo mounts
– Thread inserts make working on the car quick and simple.
– Rotationally balanced left rear wheel clamp.
– Lightweight independent roll and bump springs with low centre of gravity.
– Ultra-low motor position.
– Lightweight low centre of gravity CNC alloy rear transmission housings.

Matrix updated Five 1/8th scale rims

Posted: 18 Nov 2020 12:38 AM PST

Matrix have introduced their updated 1/8th scale rim called the ‘Five’. Maintaining the same overall look and main characteristics of its predecessor it has some really important innovations. Firstly it is more rigid on the outside to ensure greater cornering, better balanced for better handling and has increased stability to prevent any nervousness. The introduction of holes around the outer edge allows the insertion of tungsten headless screw with calibrated weight for perfect balancing. Matrix say the rim is only the first part of a new, more complex and articulated concept, which will take balancing to a higher level, with more information on the system coming shortly. The wheels are available for front and rear in Light, Carbon, Precision and Flex versions.

Exotek Racing DR10 motor plate & clamping hexes

Posted: 18 Nov 2020 12:26 AM PST

More new options for the DR10 from Exotek Racing who have produced a new motor plate and clamping hexes. Starting with the vented motor plate which features aggressive slot cuts for less weight that also helps lower the motor temps faster. The extra machining brings the weight down to 13grams (7grams lighter than stock) but the critical motor mounting areas are still intact to minimise flex for solid motor mounting and gear mesh. The precision machined heavy duty alloy rear clamping hex set has looser steel cross pin tolerance to allow you to tighten the wheel nuts without binding the bearings. The hexes do not lock onto the bearings, unlike the stock plastic hexes. They use heavy duty M2 alloy steel screws for the clamping.
