Posted: 18 Dec 2019 06:49 AM PST

Xray have lifted the curtain and official introduce their X1 2020 1/10th scale formula pan car kit. The 2020 version of the IFMAR World Cup winning car features a host of updates such as a redesigned independent rear wing mount that is now lighter, stronger, and more durable all while having less flex, resulting in improved overall aerodynamics. The all-new rear bulkheads were redesigned to work with the new independent wing mount system, allow to lower the diff position by 0.5mm for greater range of ride height adjustment, with the left bulkhead being redesigned to eliminate bending problems in crashes. The car is based on an all-new chassis -that allows to adjust the wheelbase of the front suspension. The chassis features three wheelbase alternatives with a standard wheelbase and +/- 4mm settings. Other new features include a new front stand that reinforces the front part of the chassis, a redesigned top deck supports the new wheelbase settings and a new graphite backstop for the battery better supports cross chassis alignments. Another valuable update is a keyed 1-piece aluminium link mount plate holder that provides a solid base that will not move even during hard kits. The kit is already shipping and will hit stores by the time you are reading this.

All-new features:
– All-new chassis – allows to adjust the wheelbase of the front suspension. The chassis features 3 wheelbase alternatives. Standard wheelbase and +/- 4mm
– All-new bulkheads – redesigned to work with the new independent wing mount system, redesigned to allow to lower the diff position by 0.5mm for a greater range of ride height adjustments, and the left bulkhead was redesigned to eliminate problems with bending in crashes
– All-new front stand – instead of the post which holds the upper arm mount plate it is the stand which reinforces the front part of the chassis for more steering while also allowing to a mount graphite brace that could be connected to the front lower arms for greater flex adjustment possibilities
– All-new graphite arm mount plates allow to connect a new post with the steering pivot shaft for greater steering adjustment possibilities
– All-new graphite top deck – redesigned to work with the new adjustable wheelbase
– All-new graphite rear pod – redesigned to work with the new independent wing mount system
– All-new alu pod link graphite plate holder – replacing the shims. The 1-piece holder has centring pins to eliminate the possibility of moving in crashes
– All-new graphite pod link plate – added one extra hole for the composite pod link mount to have greater steering adjustment possibilities
– All-new lighter pod brace holder from graphite composite material to increase consistency and to resist flexing
– All-new rear graphite brace which was redesigned to work with the new independent wing mount set
– All-new graphite backstop for the battery pack when mounted in cross-chassis alignment
– All-new graphite brace for the bulkheads – redesigned to work with the new independent wing mount set, features additional holes to mount a fan

Rush 1/12th scale pan car rubber tyres

Posted: 18 Dec 2019 12:58 AM PST

Japanese brand Rush have released first images of their forthcoming new rubber tyres for 1/12th scale pan cars. No additional information was provide two images, however using rubber tyres with usually foam tyre equipped 1/12th scale pan cars could lead to a more easy to handle class as the sheer amount of foam compounds available and regular tyre truing scares many people away from this otherwise very fun category. We bring you more information on the project as it becomes available.

RC Maker T4’20 CentraFlex top decks

Posted: 18 Dec 2019 12:40 AM PST

RC Maker have introduced their new CentraFlex top deck for the Xray T4 2020 mid-motor touring car. Based off RC Maker’s Awesomatix MMCX top deck, it builds on the brand’s foundations of believing in centrally located flex on touring cars. Several of the latest mid motor cars have entirely split front top decks. The reason for this is so that they can wrap around the front belt and still be symmetrical. However testing has shown that this “split” design can cause an imbalance in flex characteristics which was never before been an issue on rear motor cars, however on today’s Mid Motor cars can cause the car to be inconsistent and nervous, whilst having reduced on power and high speed steering. The CentraFlex is joined in-front of the spur gear, providing a much more centralised flex point. RC Maker have proven the “single side” design over the spur gear to be a consistent, tweak free solution and in testing found both physically and handling wise, the car was very balanced on left and right corners. As well as handling benefits, the design brings several fitment benefits such as increased clearance between the front face of the motor and the top deck for when the car is under high flex load as well as increased clearance between the edge of the motor and the top deck to fit all brands of motors, and all classes and sizes of pinion/spur combinations without any grinding of top deck or motor. Also installation and removal is much easier while providing a more durable design around the motor. The CentraFlex top deck is available in 2mm and 1.6mm thicknesses.
