VanDalen & Wiggins win at Tekno Winter Series Rd1 Posted: 04 Nov 2019 09:06 AM PST The opening round of the Tekno RC Winter Series was held the Hobbyplex indoor off-road track in Omaha, Nebraska. In the Expert Nitro Buggy class it was Tekno RC’s Seth VanDalen with the overall TQ from Jared Wiggins (Tekno RC) in 2nd and Mason Fuller (TLR) in 3rd. When the dust had settled after the 30-minute A-main, it was Seth with the win a lap in front of Jared as Mason completed the top 3, another lap down. In 1/8th E-Buggy it was Jared Wiggins with the overall TQ and he would also lead the single 10-minutes A-main from tone to tone, leaving behind Seth VanDalen in 2nd, some twelve seconds back as Mason Fuller rounded out the top 3, anther five seconds back. Adam Drake trifecta at Fallout RC Arenacross Posted: 04 Nov 2019 08:51 AM PST The 2019 Fallout RC Arenacross race was held at the Jack Giesy Arena in Ridgefield, Washington this past weekend, attracting over 280 entries for the 1/8th and 1/10th scale off-road classes. The 1/8th Nitro Buggy class had Adam Drake taking the overall TQ and also the win in the 30-minute A-main, leaving behind Kyle Johnson in 2nd, a lap down. Mason Eppley, runner-up after the qualifiers, came in 3rd to round of the podium in front of Tanner Day and Tyler Wilbur. 1/8th Nitro Truggy saw another dominating performance of Adam Drake who top qualified the class and also brought home the win in the 30-minute A-main. Kyle Johnson came in 2nd, some 23 seconds behind as Cody Grams completed the top 3 result. Adam would complete the sweep with the TQ and overall win in 1/8th E-Buggy. Winning A1 and A2 he was able to sit out A3 that was won by Andy DiBrino to cement his overall runner-up spot from Tyler Wilbur in 3rd. Machined from high-quality aluminium and coming anodised blue or black the shaft is a drop fit and a welcomed replacement of the standard composite item. Using the metal centre driveshaft will improve durability and drivetrain efficiency especially when running higher power motors. Posted: 04 Nov 2019 02:55 AM PST The annual Masters of Foam race was held at the Racing Arena Limburg this past weekend, attracting nearly 90 entries for the 1/12th scale Modified, Stock 13.5T and Stock 17.5T classes. In the fastest class of the weekend, Modified, it was Roche driver Ollie Payne with the overall TQ some six seconds in front of Project Godspeed’s Markus Mobers while Roche driver Jacques Libar came in 3rd. The opening two A-mains saw Ollie walking away with pretty dominant wins for an early overall victory as Markus Mobers and Jacques Libar ended the day in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Destiny’s Vesa Yli and Tim Altmann (KaTi) rounded out the top 5. In the Stock 13.5T class, the largest of the weekend, attracting 52 entries alone, Carl Van Den Bulck took the overall TQ some three tenths of a seconds in front of Steven Koiter with Patrick Gassauer coming in 3rd, another 0.3 seconds back. The finals then again saw Carl holding the upper hand as Martin Wilfinger and Jaques Libar snatched the final podium spots from Vesa Yli and Patrick Gassauer in 4th and 5th respectively. Finally in the Stock 17.5T category Dean Burbach and Haroun Schobner battled for the overall TQ with Dean coming out on top only a tenth of a second in front of Haroun. The finals were swept by Dean who took wins in all three A-main legs for the overall in front of Fabian Nitschke in 2nd and Haroun Schobner in 3rd. Ty Tessmann sweeps U.S. Open Fuel Championship Posted: 04 Nov 2019 01:58 AM PST Sun City Raceway of Canutillo, Texas held the U.S. Open Fuel Championship this past weekend, attracting nearly 115 entries. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Xray’s Ty Tessmann with the overall TQ and he would also take a tone to tone win in the 45-minute A-main event, leaving behind 4th place qualifier, Tekno RC’s Jared Tebo in 2nd despite the latter being able to hang with Ty in the opening stages of the race. HB Racing’s Spencer Heckert would complete the top 3 result a lap behind Jared while TLR’s Tanner Denney and Team Associated’s Chris Boice completed the top 5 results. In the E-Buggy class the single 10-minute A-main was a pretty entertaining affair with the top positions swapping constantly. In the end it was runner-up after the qualifiers, Ty Tessmann, who was able to get past 3rd place qualifier, Jared Tebo in the closing stages for his second win this weekend. Jared had to settle for 2nd overakk, Spencer Heckert came in 3rd to make another podium while Brandon Rose and top qualifier, Ryan Maifield completed the top 5. Jade Lim takes 2019 MNL Championship title Posted: 04 Nov 2019 12:41 AM PST The fifth and final round of the Malaysia National League was held this past weekend, attracting 45 drivers to compete at the Precint 6 Putrajaya track. In the Pro Nitro Buggy class Serpent’s Mizan would take the overall TQ, however after the hour-long A-main event it was young Team Associated driver, Jade Lim with the win an ultra narrow 0.2 seconds in front of 14th place qualifier, JQRacing’s Adam Fikri. Danny K had to settle for 3rd overall, some two laps down as Mizan (Serpent) and Alfie Othman (SWorkz) came in 4th and 5th respectively. With the win Jade would be crowned MNL 2019 champion as he was able to secure wins in four of the five races held. Danny K would end the championship on the runner-up spot from Adam Fikri in 3rd overall. Over in the Semi-Pro Buggy class it was Mugen’s Faris Faisal with the day’s win from Team Associated’s Derek Chu while Pa’an Mfs (Kyosho), YC Chong (Mugen) and Azneil Imi (Kyosho) completed the top 5 results. As for the overall Semi-Pro championship it was Faris Faisal with the title from fellow Mugen racer, Yc Chong in 2nd and Derek Chu in 3rd. In the Amateur category the TQ went to AE’s Kayden, however SWorkz driver Ali would bring home the win at the fifth and final round as Shane (SWorkz) came in 2nd from Azwan Nur (Team Associated) in 3rd. Ari (Kyosho) and Shahrul Adzim (Xray) came in 4th and 5th respectively. Overall in the championship it was Shane with the 2019 title from Azwan 2nd and Melvinder Singh (Mugen) in 3rd. Dani Choi doubles at KMRCA 1/8th Off-road Champs Posted: 04 Nov 2019 12:12 AM PST The 2019 KMRCA 1/8th Off-road Championship was held at the I-Cheon track in South Korea this past weekend. In the Nitro Pro class it was Kyosho’s Dani Choi with the overall TQ thanks to a clean sweep in the triple qualifiers and he would also bring home the win in the 45-minute A-main event, held in chilling temperatures. A lap behind Dani it was HB Racing’s Hanyoung Jeon on the runner-up spot while another lap down, Kyosho’s Yeonho Kim would complete the top 3 result. Over in Nitro Truggy it was again Dani Choi with the overall TQ after winning all three qualifiers and he would lead the way in the 30-minute A-main also, leaving behind from SWorkz’s Ju Won Kyu 2nd and Kyosho’s Young Seok Ko in 3rd. Baruffolo & Canas win at IBR Winter Cup Posted: 03 Nov 2019 11:52 PM PST The 2019 Winter Cup was held at the IBR Padova dirt indoor track in Padova, Italy over the weekend. The event attracted some of Europe’s fastest 1/8th off-road racers as well as guests from abroad such as Agama’s Ryan Lutz who came over from the U.S. to compete in the Nitro Pro and E-Buggy classes. Over in the Nitro Pro class it was Xray’s Marco Baruffolo with the overall win as Kyosho’s Riccardo Berton came in 2nd overall. A lap behind the two it was SWorkz’s Leonardo Valence who would round out the podium in front of Kyosho’s Mattia Polito. In 4th SWorkz’s Elliott Boots was the highest ranked non-Italian driver with TLR’s Renaud Savoya coming in 6th overall. Over in the E-Buggy class it was was SWorkz’s Juan Carlos Canas with the overall win from SWorkz’s Elliott Boots in 2nd. TLR’s Renaud Savoya came in 3rd to round out the podium results. Finally in the Nitro Buggy Sport class it was Philipp de Zwart with the overall win in the main final.
