New from HB Racing is a long wheelbase chassis to upgrade the E817 and E817V2 electric buggies to the same wheelbase as the E819. The new chassis is 2mm longer than the stock E817 chassis for improved handling and jumping. The main plate is precision machined from high-quality aluminium for a perfect fit, and hard anodised black for durability. When using the long wheelbase chassis the E819 36mm rear centre dogbone must be used.

Xray have released a first teaser image of their forthcoming all-new T4 2020 electric touring car kit. According to Xray the car will be a complete redesign with spy shots of prototype cars suggesting a move to the now-popular mid motor/mid spur gear design and possibly also newly designed, longer A-arms. Full details will become available in time for the release.

The Neuchatel Mini Buggy Club held round 5 of the Swiss 1/8th Off-road nationals last weekend. In the Expert class it was Christoph Affolter with the overall TQ from Jeremy Pittet in 2nd and Sven Zünd in 3rd. Overall championship favourite, Patrick Hofer only qualified in 7th overall. In the 45-minute main final it then was Jeremy Pittet with the win a lao in front of David Naldini as Patrick Hofer was able to take the final podium spot, some seven seconds behind David. With round 5 being the season finale, also the overall champions would be crowned with his 3rd place being enough for Patrick to bring home another Swiss National Championship title.

Coming from Helix Designs are two new antenna mounts for the use with the Sanwa RX-491 receiver. The 3-D-printed parts offer a clean sleek way to hold and protect the receiver’s antenna. Helix are offering two different versions; Low Profile and Long Range. The low profile cover keeps the antenna in a small space low and out of the way for a clean looking electronics install. Recommended for medium to small track sizes. Long range holds the antenna upright for a small compact way to make the most range and consistency possible. This comes with the set screw and perfect length antenna tube for the Sanwa RX-491. The latter mount is recommended for the largest of tracks out there. Installation of both required the use of optional double sided tape.

Last weekend’s 2019 ROAR Nitro On-Road Nationals, held at the One Eighth Racers of Toledo, saw Serpent’s Ralph Burch taking the overall TQ in the 200mm Sedan class, however it was Paolo Morganti (Capricorn) who would be crowned National Champion after the 30-minute A-main final. Qualifying in 2nd Paolo would bring home the win after battling with Ralph for the lead for a good part of the race. The latter would score an unfortunate DNF after about 23 minutes, allowing Paolo to take the lead and bring home the win a lap in front of Shepherd’s Ted Hammer as Serpent’s Jeremiah Ward came in 3rd, some 15 seconds behind Ted.

Exotek have introduced new aluminium optionals for the Kyosho RB7 and RB6 series of 2WD buggies in the form of an aluminium front camber mount and aluminium rear wing stays. Starting with the front camber link mount, the heavy duty 7075 aluminium construction front bulkhead is of an updated design to accept the RB7 front roll bar and finished with Exotek’s 2-colour black with red chamfer anodising to give any RB7 that extra special factory look. The 1-piece design eliminates the two plastic steering post spacers and includes two M3 set screws to hold in the steering posts for a snug fit. The part is intricately machined to reduce its weight to only 12.4g while insuring its heavy duty construction.

Also new are the heavy duty 7075 alloy wing mounts for the RB7 and RB6 series mid motor buggies. They feature the same 2-colour black with red chamfer anodising treatment as the above bulkhead and they are extra durable but intricately machined to be lightweight at 10g for the pair.

Round 7 of the 2019 JBRL Electric Off-Road Series was held at Rainman’s Hobby & Raceway in Bakersfield, California last weekend. In 2WD Open Buggy it was Ron Devoll with the win from Sammy Moran in 2nd place. Brendon Larrowe came in 3rd to round out the top 3 results.

4WD Mod Buggy again had Ron Devoll walking away with the silverware as Shawn Miller and Carlos Cortez came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

In 4WD Expert 13.5T Buggy Davey Batta came in 1st from Tanner Ashmore in the runner-up spot. Sammy Moran would complete the top 3 results.

2WD Expert had Sammy Moran taking the win as Tanner Ashmore and veteran racer, Barry Baker came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
