| | | | | Dec 16, 2020 | | | | | | Good evening, We may be in the middle of winter but some of us have already got warmer weather in mind. Not necessarily because we love summertime, but because next summer may bring more to us than just a hot spell. Summer 2021 may well be the time when our lives can start to get back to normal. We may be able to go on holiday, out for a meal with friends we haven’t seen for months and we may even be able to go to the pub...providing some of them have survived. It is good to have something to look forward to - in fact it is what keeps most of us going through this tough period when the days are short and we are stuck inside for almost 24 hours a day. But this silver lining on the edge of the cloud comes with a caveat. Experts say a Christmas blowout - ignoring restrictions to meet up with all and sundry - may mean that it will be longer than summer before we can say goodbye to the restrictions which have blighted our lives for so long. It’s a warning we all would do well to heed. Looking for a last-minute gift? This Christmas you can give lep.co.uk to a news-hungry friend or family member. Thank you, Gillian | |
