Chinese Mustard Greens and Shrimp Soup

By 15mhhm15

Chinese Mustard Greens and Shrimp Soup in bowlThis soup is very versatile. You can eat this as is, paired with rice or even add some noodles into this soup. This is one of my favorite soups and very quick to make with just a few ingredients.

Apple Walnut Cognac Cake

By attosa

Apple Walnut Cognac Cake on plateI call this my "Adult Poke Cake." I made this cake for a good friend who adores cognac and it went over really well. Yes, you can really taste the cognac here, especially because it's topped with a cognac brown butter. The juices from the apples keep it nice and moist, while the cooked down nuts have a fantastic texture. Happy baking!

Black Bean Veggie Burgers

By Holly

Black Bean Veggie Burger in bun with tomato and lettuceA while back my family decided to eat a less meat and more beans for health reasons. I realized that the veggie burgers in the freezer section were too expensive for something I could probably learn to make at home, so I did a little research and came across this awesome recipe online! I toned down the spice so that the veggies and garlic could come through as well. Feel free to tweak the spices or add hot sauce to taste.

Fish Buying Tips

Fish meat should be firm, not soft or mushy. Fish eyes should be shiny and protrude from the fish. If they are dull or sunken, the fish should be avoided. The fish should smell fresh and not overly fishy or musty.
