Got his goat: Arizona official may have broken the law It’s not too unusual to perform services in exchange for an item rather than cash. Of course, these sorts of deals usually happen under the table, which is why it’s a big scandal when a politician gets caught making trades like this. And that’s allegedly what happened in the state of Arizona, where a former water resource portfolio manager was revealed to have been paid with a goat after attempting to secure extra water for farmers. This deal was not public, and the goat in question was allegedly paid to the manager under the table. Apparently, he didn’t need money for it because he was more concerned about bringing home an animal his kids would love. The official has since resigned, but nobody is asking for the goat back. Good for him, I guess. Maybe he could have taken a trip to this California town instead and kept his job. Tap or click here to see the town that was invaded by goats. → |
