CIAA, editorial calendar highlights abound

It’s such a busy week in the city, between the CIAA tournament and related events like #BORTweek, a Black-owned restaurant tour that invites Baltimore-resident CIAA basketball fans and visitors to check out some great places to eat within Charm City.

Last night I went to Magdalena on Biddle Street. I met the sweet couple that owns the restaurant and feasted on a wagyu burger that I ordered medium well. The folks who watched my Instagram stories were drooling.

There's a full schedule of CIAA events that is easily googlable or located on the conference's official website. Beyond those more official events, there are others that are simply inspired by the tourney being in town, and I ain’t mad at it — even if there’s widespread misuse of the logo on what I perceive to be unsanctioned flyers. I’m certain many of the flyers never crossed the desk of the CIAA's official marketing team, but that’s OK, I won’t tell. I love the ingenuity, I love the creativity and it’s what I love about this city the most. Or two of the things, anyway.

I had an opportunity to check out some of the men's and women's games over at the CFG Bank Arena, and the energy in the arena is high. I’m super excited to head over to the CIAA Welcome Reception tonight at the Rita Rossi Colwell Center on Pratt and, of course, the Visit Baltimore-led events that start tomorrow (and which we covered last week).
