This has been another year of forging ahead in the fight to end cancer at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. |
Yet as 2016 comes to a close, our battle continues. And for the sake of children, like Josey, who turn to us for care, we must end this year strong and be ready for all that 2017 will bring. |
Do you remember Josey's story, which I recently shared? |
When she was 7 years old, her mother, Ashley, noticed that Josey bruised easily and was more tired than usual. Josey's tests revealed abnormalities that could lead to acute myeloid leukemia. Right away, Ashley called MD Anderson. |
On April 29, 2014, a definitive diagnosis revealed myelodysplastic syndrome, a blood cancer that's very rare in children. Josey's oncologist at MD Anderson said a bone marrow transplant was her only chance for a cure. She underwent surgery on Aug. 13, 2014. |
Today, Josey's cancer is in remission — thanks to the expert care she received at MD Anderson, which was made possible by the support of friends like you. |
Please stand with us to help finish the year on a strong note and embrace new possibilities that lie ahead for those served by MD Anderson...like Josey. |
|
Give your best year‑end gift now. Thank you and happy holidays. |
