When people ask me what my hobbies are I don’t know what to tell them.
The truth is, when I’m not being extremely online or writing about very online things for my job, you’ll likely find me on the couch, looking for shows to binge. |

That’s why I’m sharing some of my personal ABC iview faves with you as part of a three-part What To Watch newsletter takeover.
Surprise surprise, this one’s all about binge-worthy content. My first rec is Nakkiah Lui’s Preppers.It’s about a young Aboriginal woman who suddenly finds herself living with a community of doomsday preppers. |

The premise is obviously hilarious — and it’s just the starting point for strikingly accurate explorations of microaggressions and the concept of allyship.
So, it’s the kind of show you’d actually wanna focus on.
Sometimes you just want something to play in the background as you scroll through your phone though, amirite? With that in mind, I present Nigella’s Cook, Eat, Repeat |

If you’re after something darker (not dark, just not Nigella), that will challenge you and that you will want to inhale, Veneno’s another great one. |

I went into it not knowing a whole lot more than that it was a Spanish series about Cristina Ortiz Rodríguez, a trans sex worker, singer, and TV personality, and I think that made it all the more arresting.
And for something to binge with others, might I suggestThe School That Tried To End Racism? If you’re old and jaded like me, the Marc Fennell-led series is one to catch because you get to watch kids who still have hope for a different, better world. |

And it’s a great starting point for initiating crucial discussions about race and racism with the younger people in your life.
Last, we have my most recent obsession for no reason other than it’s my most recent obsession. I consumed Starstruck in a single evening. |

Rose Matafeo perfectly articulates what it is to be an expat working terrible jobs in London — who falls in love with a MOVIE STAR. Why didn’t this happen to me when I was working terrible jobs in London? Nikesh Patel is everything a leading man should be and this show will make you cackle while also giving you goosebumps induced by gooey feelings.
