In a brave and touching move, the sister of the first named blood clot victim spoke to The Telegraph to encourage people to continue to take the AstraZeneca jab and “keep saving lives”. Read her words here. Despite the setback, Britain’s vaccination programme is enjoying remarkable success. Sarah Knapton reports exclusively on a study from University College London that estimates that the UK will reach herd immunity as early as Monday. That optimism has not been reflected in the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown, leading Philip Johnston to suggest that we may never see true normality again. If that’s the case, he writes in his column, it’s time for a change of plan from ministers. The latest Forbes rich list showed a significant rise in the number of female billionaires in just one year, with new and old names increasing their wealth by a staggering amount. So has something fundamental changed about the way women can become rich? Rosa Silverman investigates and finds a rather less inspiring answer. Finally, it seems just moments ago that the 2020 Grand National was replaced by a virtual horse race, but it has indeed been a full year. The race is back and, thankfully, with real horses and jockeys this time.
