This week, Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th president of the U.S., leaving many cannabis industry stakeholders hopeful that federal policy reform could be on the horizon. In the days leading up to the 2020 election, Cannabis Business Times explored what a Biden administration could mean for the industry, with many stakeholders optimistic about seeing meaningful change in Washington under not only Biden, but also Vice President Kamala Harris. Democrats securing the majority in the U.S. Senate earlier this month bolstered these hopes, and this week, CBT highlighted what the industry might be able to expect from four of Biden's Cabinet picks. While the federal rescheduling or legalization of cannabis may still be slow-going, all eyes are certainly on Washington as the nation ushers in new leadership. -Melissa Schiller, Senior Digital Editor |
