| | Nov. 11, 2021 A major snow storm is blowing across Minnesota . Snow was already falling in northern Minnesota Thursday morning, and southern parts of the state could see as much as 2 inches of snowfall in the next day.
Most of the precipitation is expected to fall as rain, but that will turn to snow overnight and drop as much as 2 inches of snow around Albert Lea and Willmar by Friday afternoon. National Weather Service meteorologist Josh Fandstrom in Duluth says far northern Minnesota could see 8 inches — although the early season and temperatures hovering in the 30s make precise forecasts difficult.
Forecasters also say it's going to be very windy, with gusts possibly topping 50 miles an hour in southwestern Minnesota.
