Quinn's editorial praised, Stein loses to Portnoy, Trump's super secret stash

A column from Chris Quinn, the editor of Cleveland.com, has gone viral for shredding GOP candidate for Senate J.D. Vance and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis over the rules for press coverage at their Friday rally.

Quinn noted in his now widely shared article, “our reporters were not there because of ridiculous restrictions that DeSantis and Vance placed on anyone covering the event.&rdquo

“The worst of the rules was one prohibiting reporters from interviewing attendees not first approved by the organizers of the event for DeSantis and Vance. When we cover events, we talk to anyone we wish. It’s America, after all, the land of free speech,” Quinn wrote before throwing some more strongly worded jabs into the mix.

“At least that’s America as it exists today. Maybe not the America that would exist under DeSantis and Vance,” he continued.

Quinn then went on to describe other restrictions the rally’s organizers put on press at the event, noting that one rule gave the candidates the right to receive copies of any video shot of the event for promotional use.

"That’s never okay. News agencies are independent of the political process," he wrote. "We do not provide our work product to anyone for promotional use."

Quinn’s editorial received immense praise among members of the media and free speech advocates.

MSNBC host and Middle East correspondent Ayman Mohyeldin shared the editorial on Twitter, writing, “It’s not hyperbolic to say this is the behavior of dictatorships."

Alex Stein tried and failed to take down Dave Portnoy in a Twitter fight following the removal of one of Stein’s videos from the Barstool’s Sports account.

In the video, Stein -- known as a right-wing commentator who attempts to discuss political topics in the form of sketch comedy -- posed as an upset tourist visiting Las Vegas.

The video shows Stein addressing the Las Vegas City Council, saying he lost an insane amount of money gambling, and accusing the city of targeting weak and vulnerable men.

Barstool Sports tweeted out the video before it was mysteriously deleted.

Stein took to Twitter to voice his frustrations, saying, “It’s so cute that @barstoolsports is owned by @stoolpresidente who is accused of the most heinous things but they are too afraid to keep my content up.”

It didn’t take long for Portnoy to respond, writing, “Buddy shut the f**k up. We are owned by a gambling company. We’ve had roughly 9000 training sessions not to post shit like this cause regulators don’t like it ... Go back to whatever hole you crawled out of.”

He later tweeted another video of Stein harassing abortion supporters at the Texas State Capitol, writing, “This guy? Anybody who does this is a piece of shit."

Both Stein and Portnoy declared victory in the Twitter battle, but while Portnoy dropped the pointless debate, Stein has continued to post rather cringeworthy statements and memes about the whole thing.
