Common good: California man solves the toilet paper crisis As anyone can tell you, the past few weeks have been an unprecedented time of panic. But few signs are more obvious than the bizarre absence of toilet paper from store shelves. Even though grocery stores remain open — and will stay open, even if quarantines are enforced — people all over the country felt the need to fill their carts with the stuff. But rather than complain about the nasty side of human nature, one California man decided to bank on our tendency to help one another by opening a toilet paper exchange on a street corner. He started with a simple sign that read, “Share your toilet paper” and soon enough, people showed up in droves to donate. He then gave the toilet paper he received to those in need. It just goes to show that if we work together, everyone’s ass is covered.
