Let's face it. Mugs and cups are sooooooooooooo universal. I have used mugs for pen holders a lot. But then, I wanted to sell them and oops, there are pen marks inside. You either have to bleach them or scrub them. Sometimes they are a lost cause.

Save Waxed Paper Liners from Boxes

The waxed paper liners from cereal and cracker boxes have so many uses. The paper is very good quality. After you finish your box of cereal, take out the liner, and open it up so it can lie flat. It's best to do this over the sink to catch any crumbs. Wipe down with a sponge and allow to dry before using. Make sure you recycle the box, too!

I keep all sorts of scraps from previous projects I have done. I turned this crocheted rectangle into a pen organizer. I fastened three large safety pins in a row and then hung writing pens on the safety pins. I tied a ribbon onto one end, rolled it up and tied it.
