Do we want to think of the Royal Family as real people, like us, or do we want to hold them up as larger-than-life figures? Does it humanize and endear them to us when we watch them make salad dressing and watch TV, or does it ruin some of the mystique we enjoy from the royals?
Those are the central questions surrounding a decades-old BBC documentary about the Royal Family that recently re-surfaced on YouTube before promptly being taken down again. Would you be interested in watching the royals putter around the house? Or do you agree with Princess Anne that the documentary was "a rotten idea?"
Regardless of your viewing preferences, have a wonderful weekend, Royal Watchers! |

Princess Anne is a severely underrated member of the Royal Family. Remember when she simply refused to be kidnapped in 1974? (The assailant ordered her to get out of her car, to which she replied “Bloody likely.”) Remember how she was last year's hardest-working royal? Here are some of the best photos of Princess Anne in her 20s. |

Did you know that Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit is an avid skier? You can watch her impressive exploits on Instagram. (Fair warning: the sound of the wind in that video, coupled with that fresh Norwegian snow, might make you feel much much chillier than you do now! Consider watching with a blanket.)
Unfortuately, though, she reportedly got into a skiing accident earlier this month and broke her tailbone. It's believed that she was with her 16-year-old daughter, Princess Ingrid, when she fell while jumping off a ski lift. According to Hello!, Mette-Marit spent the night in the hospital, and has since been recovering at home. |
