Primavera Tours’ musical snakes and ladders will take you from concert to concert this autumn From concert to concert with no overlaps, no racing around and no unnecessary sacrifices. Introducing Primavera Sound’s musical autumn, now under the umbrella of Primavera Tours, established to promote the conception and philosophy of live music throughout the year as defended by the Barcelona promoter. From tonight on with the concert by A Place To Bury Strangers in the Moby Dick venue in Madrid and until 19th December when Zeal & Ardor will play in La (2) de Apolo in Barcelona, Primavera Sound will programme around 36 concerts by 22 artists (plus their corresponding support bands) in 16 venues in both cities. And all of this without forgetting the seventy shows that will make up this year’s Primavera Club, that from 26th to 28th October will bring together dozens of up and coming artists who have never played in Spain. Where will each concert you choose take you? Primavera Tours’ snakes and ladders has the answer. Create your own adventure… choose the routes that suit you, that’s what it is all about. 🤘 = If you start with A Place to Bury Strangers it means that you like it when the walls shake –your route is that of noise: the route of Carpenter Brut who is back after triumphing at Primavera Sound with his overwhelming retrowave, of the Black Sabbath meets afrobeats of Here Lies Man and of the cross between black metal and gospel by Zeal & Ardor. There is no respite, unless you want it. 🌀 = Maybe you are inspired by Amen Dunes’ evocative guitars, by the infallible Kurt Vile & The Violators presenting their new album, by the punk with embellishments by Iceage or by the touches of psychedelia from The Black Angels. Not to mention the intimate evening face to face with Lee Ranaldo in Café Berlín in Madrid on 23rd September. And they say that people don’t make stimulating guitar music anymore! 💫 = If it is magic you are after, then look no further than that brought by four celestial tours: Damien Rice and his inseparable guitar will visit Madrid for the first time (a sold out concert), Beach House will display their customary wealth of emotions, Spiritualized will reveal the virtues of their first album (And Nothing Hurt) in six years and the virtuoso Nils Frahm will take us on a journey on his hypnotic ocean of keyboards and synthesisers. 🦄 = Exoticism and the quest for new styles have always had a special place in the Primavera universe. This allows one to delve into the resurgence of two icons of Brazilian music Azymuth and Marcos Valle, who will perform for the first time in Barcelona on September 4th revealing their recently revaluated legacy, and with the discovery of the retro-futurist jazz by the London artist Kamaal Williams, one of the main players in the resurrection of a genre that appears to be on the cusp of a new golden era. 🌒 = Taking your genre – in this case the most suburban aspect of pop – to another level is something that U.S Girls know all about, genre-hopping with a spirit of activism; Public Service Broadcasting, subscribers to hedonistic instrumental soundscapes; and The KVB, producers of psych-sweet candies of dark pop. 🕺 = And, of course there will always be pop! Be it open-minded pop by Javiera Mena, dancefloor-oriented pop like that of Roosevelt, bedroom pop by this year’s sensation Cuco or pop with one foot in urban music like the unstoppable Mavi Phoenix, this autumn Primavera Tours will also invite you, even drive you –to dance! Shake them, blow on them, make a wish and roll your dice. Les jeux sont faits! Next stop: the concert venues. |
