Hello, Tuesday is when we round up all our planning and property news for you. Three outdated tower blocks are to be flattened in Preston costing 180 residents their homes. The blocks - Richmond House, Carlisle House and Lincoln House in the Avenham area of the city - have been under threat since cladding had to be removed following the Grenfell fire. Owners Onward Homes say they have consulted with tenants over the past five months and have now decided to knock them down and replace them with modern homes. Elsewhere, Preston's fire-ravaged Odeon Cinema could become a giant car park for shoppers while the owners decide what to do with it. An application to use the land just yards from the city’s main shopping street for a 134-space pay-and-display for a period of three years has been submitted to the council. We’ve also got news of a potential new bar and entertainment venue in prominent spot and another nightspot that wants to open a city centre beer garden until 3.30am. For all that and more of the week’s top headlines, take a look at today’s newsletter. Thanks for reading, Adam [email protected] |
