I have always had a problem with throwing food away. I also like to prepare for the rainy day. We live 20 minutes from any shopping facility and we grow some of our own food. I have learned that the most economical way to preserve food is to dry it.

When people see spaghetti squash, usually the first recipe that comes to mind involves spaghetti sauce. I decided to give these vegetable noodles an Asian twist by turning them into chow mein. I added shrimp, cashews and veggies to mine. You can try many different meat and vegetable combinations.

When wrapping larger Christmas gifts, instead of using a lot of wrapping paper and tape, buy a holiday tablecloth, and tie it at the top with ribbon. It works wonderfully!
