Walking for Water 2016 Kicks of this week
With UN World Water Day just around the corner the 14th annual Walking for Water Campaign kicks off this week with BIG walks in Katwijk, Apeldoorn and Enschede where over 900 students will be walking! We expect to pass an important milestone by the end of campaign 2016 – Dutch kids will have walked about 1.4m kilometres, raising over €10m since the campaign started in 2003! Pretty impressive! We’ll announce estimated results at the Dutch World Water Day celebration on March 24th!
MINI NETWORK
New types of mini and mid-scale water grid networks are emerging as an alternative to traditional large scale public utilities.
This year we will support the #Blue4Water Movement, an initiative of our strategic partner The Millennium Water Alliance. This week we will post different water related messages using the #Blue4Water on our social media. #Blue4Water asks people all over the world to post a photo of themselves wearing blue and use the hashtag #Blue4Water. Don’t have a blue article or clothing? That’s okay! Post a meaningful photo that shows why you care about clean water – a photo of a water drop, of your blue coffee mug, whatever! Go BLUE for World Water Day and show us why clean water is important to YOU! (Example of social media post: “I am #Blue4Water today because…”)
