In our first 12-team, post free agency PPR mock draft, we saw a ton of shifts in Fantasy value. A great deal of that had to do with the fact that several Fantasy studs from years past will be donning new helmets next season. For a complete list of where the top free agents landed in our CBS mock draft, be sure to check out Jamey Eisenberg's post free agency PPR mock draft recap. |
The majority of premier free agent Fantasy players have found new homes for 2024 and that will undoubtedly have an impact on upcoming drafts. The new landscape at the skill positions is intriguing, to say the least, with running back positions undergoing significant changes. Running backs emerged as a priority during this free agency cycle. |
As Jamey Eisenberg writes in his post free agency PPR mock draft recap, multiple running backs were taken much higher than their projected value. I firmly believe much of this is a byproduct of the scarcity of talent at running back in the 2024 NFL Draft. |
|
There will be limited opportunities to draft a difference maker at running back in Fantasy this year so it will be important to strike early if you intend to land a good one. After Round 5, you'll be left with the likes of Tony Pollard, Aaron Jones, Austin, Ekeler, Gus Edwards, and others who all figure to be splitting carries next season. |

When it comes to wide receivers who will be playing in new cities, there were a few selections that were surprising but can ultimately be justified. Calvin Ridley who signed with the Tennessee Titans during free agency was the No. 21 receiver off the board. He went well ahead of fellow Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins who was eventually picked in Round 7. Ridley adds the run-after-catch ability to the Titans offense and he'll become Will Levis' favorite target because of his aptitude for consistently beating man coverage. |
|
Another surprise at wide receiver was D.J. Moore going No. 16 overall. Moore will have two things he'll need to overcome within his own team before he can even begin to think of repeating or improving upon his breakout 2023 season. He'll need to figure out how he'll maintain his productivity levels with Keenan Allen on the other side of him while building chemistry with a new quarterback. Jamey contends that he wouldn't have taken Moore at No. 16 overall as a result of the aforementioned factors, but Moore is explosive and will face less bracket coverage while sharing the field with Allen. |
There were no notable free agent signings at the tight end position in free agency, but as far as this mock draft is concerned, it appears as though the Kirk Cousins effect looms large in Atlanta. Kyle Pitts was the No. 7 tight end off the board and rightfully so. I can certainly see him getting his career back on track with Cousins at the helm as he targeted tight ends last year on nearly 27 percent of his passes prior to his season-ending injury. That mark was good for fifth in the NFL among all eligible quarterbacks. |
|
Jamey took Dalton Kincaid in Round 6 as he's among his top breakout candidates this season. With wide receiver Gabe Davis leaving for Jacksonville, Dalton Kincaid could see more targets in 2024. |
If you'd like to know why some of the new faces in new cities may or may not have success next season, be sure to give Jamey's complete recap of our post free agency PPR Mock draft a read. |
