| Skilled Nursing Facility CMS releases statement on quality of care in nursing homes On June 5, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a statement regarding its attention to the quality of care in U.S. nursing homes. Referencing CMS Administrator Seema Verma’s April 2019 announcement of a five-step plan to increase quality, this statement by Dr. Kate Goodrich, director of the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality and CMS’ chief medical officer, reiterated CMS’ commitment to quality care and urged families to use Nursing Home Compare when choosing a facility. | |
