S.C. Ports volume rebounds in July after finishing the fiscal year down

The CEO of the S.C. Ports Authority said the agency has seen early signs of a rebound after the global pandemic undercut what was shaping up to be a record year for the agency. The year ended down 28% from fiscal 2019, with the equivalent of 2.32 million 20-foot containers handled at the Wando Welch and North Charleston terminals. Before the pandemic, the port system was headed for a record year, according to records in January and February.

Hire Me SC to hold virtual employment summit in October

Hire Me SC will be rolling out its annual employer summit online Oct. 7 from 9:30 a.m. to noon to help link employers to resources on building a workforce open to candidates with disabilities. Speakers include Tom Arnold, president and CEO of Colonial Life and Accident Insurance Co.
