Post-ABC poll: Clinton has 4-point edge over Trump, with most voters saying Trump’s hot-mic video does not affect their vote |
In a new Washington Post-ABC News poll, Hillary Clinton has a four-point edge over Donald Trump in the race for the White House, 47 percent to 43 percent among likely voters, only a slight change from the last Post-ABC survey, which was taken on the eve of the first presidential debate. The new poll was conducted during one of the most tumultuous periods of Trump’s candidacy, after The Washington Post released a video in which Trump spoke about taking sexual advantage of women and during a time when numerous women have accused him of sexual misconduct. Here are some key findings: 68 percent of likely voters say Trump probably has made unwanted sexual advances on women and just 14 percent say he probably has not. Asked whether his comments are typical of locker room talk among men, just over 4 in 10 likely voters say yes, while 52 percent say it was “beyond how men typically talk.” While 55 percent say Trump’s treatment of women is a legitimate issue in the campaign, 62 percent say Clinton’s treatment of women who accused Bill Clinton of sexual assault is not a legitimate issue and 67 percent said Bill Clinton’s treatment of women is not a legitimate issue. |
