Dear , As 2021 draws to a close, we would like to express our gratitude to you, our loyal audience. Poetry Daily would not be possible without our incredibly supportive—and growing—community of readers, publishers, and poets. For supporters who haven’t made an end-of-year gift to Poetry Daily, there’s still time. Please consider a donation today. In the past year, we increased our website readership by 49% to over 549,000 individuals; we grew our newsletter to over 15,000 readers, and we published work from 111 presses and 76 literary journals. Your support has enabled Poetry Daily to continue our popular weekly essay series, “What Sparks Poetry,” and helped underwrite virtual events, including the recent conversation betweenKaveh Akbar and Ilya Kaminsky. And we also have ambitious plans for next year. For example, we are transforming "What Sparks Poetry" into an open educational resource for students, schools and colleges. We’re also extending our reach to more communities in need of poetry, such as juveniles and adults in detention.
We can’t wait to share with you the exciting new poetry being released in the coming year. Also, we’d like to let you know that we will be celebrating Poetry Daily’s groundbreaking history at the Association of Writers and Writing Professionals Conference in Philadelphia in March 2022. If you will be at the conference, we hope you will join us to celebrate “25 Years of Poetry Daily” as we honor Poetry Daily’s founders, Don Selby and Diane Boller.
