Good evening Tomorrow is the day we find out exactly what the Prime Minister has in mind for us this winter to keep the pandemic under control. It’s already clear he is feeling pretty confident and is unlikely to put another lockdown in place if he can avoid it - but that will likely mean other measures will have to be stuck to, potentially including working from home guidance and the use of face masks. As usual there is much leakage and speculation about the plans. Covid laws that are no longer required will be ditched and plans for vaccine passports for nightclubs and other large crowd venues have been shelved. The travel traffic lights system is also expected to be scrapped and PCR tests will no longer be required for fully vaccinated travellers. The announcement comes after Health Secretary Sajid Javid said on Sunday that vaccine passports were a “huge intrusion into people’s lives” and there were no current plans to go ahead with them. But, conversely, Work and Pensions Secretary Therese Coffey said the introduction of vaccine passports had not been “ruled out forever”. What do you think should happen?
