Hodo Gives Back to the Farmers Market | Founded in 2004, Hodo was born on a simple premise: to bring fresh, high-quality organic tofu directly to the people. It has since grown into a national plant-based brandâ found on Michelin-starred menus and grocery store shelves alikeâ . Still, Hodo remains firmly rooted in Bay Area values, with production in Oakland and a loyal following at local farmers markets. As farmers, food makers, and restaurants are being hit hard during the COVID-19 crisis, Hodo is rapidly pivoting to meet the demands of home cooks who are shopping online and at the farmers market. During this time of shelter-in-place, Hodo is giving back to help keep farmers markets thriving, donating proceeds from their Saturday Ferry Plaza Farmers Market booth and items in the CUESA Farmers Market Box to CUESA. We spoke with founder Minh Tsai about the role farmers markets play in incubating businesses like Hodo, how Hodo is adapting during the pandemic, and why supporting farmers markets is so vital, especially now. | |
| Please Send a Single Household Member, Wear a Mask, and Keep Your Distance at the Market | Help us maintain social distancing by sending a single household member to shop at the farmers market if possible. By San Francisco order, everyone must stay six feet apart and wear a face covering. Our vendors must refuse service to any shopper who is not wearing a face mask or not complying with social distancing requests. Thank you for your support in keeping farmers markets safe and open! | |
| Thank You for a Successful #GivingTuesdayNow! | Thank you so much to everyone who donated on #GivingTuesdayNow! With your generous contributions, we raised $7,830 in support of farmers, families, and workers. If you have not given yet, please help keep farmers markets thriving by donating to our Save Your Farmers Market Fund. | |
