PASSING SHOT: Looking to capitalize on soaring interest in a sport that's expanding across the United States, New Orleans entrepreneurs have started building a $5 million pickleball center in a Lower Garden District warehouse, with indoor and outdoor courts, a restaurant, a bar and a pickleball pro on staff. THE FINAL FARE: Yolanda Dillion recently started driving for a ride-booking service, as a way to make ends meet. At 54, she held a master’s degree in sociology from Tulane University, worked 10 years as a budget analyst at the New Orleans Police Department, lived with and cared for her 83-year-old mother and was trying to get out of debt. But she was unaware that the last passenger she picked up would stab her to death from the back seat of her vehicle, record video of the aftermath and post it on social media.
