Pharmacists involved in the Urinary Tract Infection Pharmacy Pilot - Queensland (UTIPP-Q) will continue to treat UTIs with the State Government approving them to deliver the service on a permanent basis.
Welcoming the decision, Pharmacy Guild of Australia Queensland Branch President, Chris Owen, said the decision was “unequivocal recognition of community pharmacy’s integral role in delivering valuable primary healthcare services to patients”.
“To date, over 820 Queensland pharmacies have participated in the program and will be pleased to continue to provide this primary healthcare service and advance women’s healthcare,” he said. More details in tomorrow's issue of Pharmacy Daily.
