After an incredible career of service and dedication to our firm and to our clients, Baker Tilly Ottawa bid a fond farewell to Stewart Wilson who retired at the end of 2020. A beloved figure at the firm, Wilson played an important role in guiding BT Ottawa through many phases — and name changes — since his arrival in 1978. An assurance partner with extensive experience providing audit and reviews in both the private and public sectors, Wilson worked with clients in a variety of industries, including construction, engineering, manufacturing and real estate. He also served as the firm’s CPA program leader and human resources partner for over a decade, taking an active role in the hiring, recruiting and retention of staff. In addition, he conducted a number of federal government assignments, including mineral, oil and gas royalty audits, internal audits and served as an advisor to the Competition Bureau. “Over the decades, Stewart remained an accomplished and distinguished member of our team, bringing valuable wisdom and experience to everything he does,” says former managing partner Ken Tammadge, who also transitioned into retirement in 2020. “I have fond memories of entering this business with him — and, like the rest of our team, I will always value our time spent working together.” We wish Stewart a wonderful and most deserved retirement. He will always be a cherished member of our Baker Tilly Ottawa family. |
