Tina Patterson
The Montgomery County Planning Board is pleased to announce that Commissioner Tina Patterson has won the 2018 Roaring Thirty Prodigy Award from the Women in Housing and Real Estate Ecosystem (NAWRB), a trade association representing female business owners in housing.

Patterson, who has served on the Planning Board since 2017, was honored at NAWRB's fifth annual conference titled "Year of Women" and held in Chicago during July 2018. According to the Roaring Thirty Award website, the Prodigy Award is presented to "an up and comer; an entrepreneur whose success is only a matter of time; showing a way of doing business different from the established players and as a woman proving that there is always room for ingenuity."

The Roaring Thirty Awards celebrate women leaders who work to ensure gender equality and forge the path to success for all women.

Pink benches in Los Angeles

Grand Park - known simply as the "pink park" - is a 12-acre urban oasis in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. The park reopened in 2012, transforming a dreary government plaza into a spectacular community centerpiece. In a bustling urban setting where the park offers much-needed relief, color plays a key role in defining its identity and providing lessons for planners and designers of public spaces in Montgomery County.
