A decorative chalkboard with a bow.I bought this chalkboard during last year's 90% Christmas sale at Target for only 30 cents (originally $3). I changed up the original bow that I did not like (which was a simple thin red bow) into this burlap bow. Now the chalkboard looks as if it was more expensive and looks nicer.

Next time you buy a pair of kids' shoes, keep the elastic string that keeps them together - don't throw it away! Just untie the knot and you've got a wonderful piece of craft string for bracelets and things.
Transfer Patterns with Vinyl Tablecloth
Use dollar store plastic or vinyl tablecloths to transfer sewing or craft patterns onto. They last a lot longer by doing this.
Braided Rug From Old Towels
We all know we can recycle bath towels that are worn in spots to become potholders or washcloths. But, another nifty way to recycle them is to make them into braided rugs.
Use Coin as Thimble
If you're ever stuck with a tent, tarp or piece of leatherwork to repair and you don't have a thimble on hand, tape a coin to your finger to help you push that heavy needle through the heavy fabric or leather.
Crafts Using Pine Cones
We made door hangings with the long pine cones by using red velvet, wide ribbon the length you choose for your door, and wired a couple of long pine cones at the end of the ribbon.
