If you've been in the game long enough, you'll remember when BJJ schools gave out Judo Gis. Back then, there was not this weave and that weave to choose from, no poly-blend ripstop or fancy sublimated linings... and certainly no ultra-light options. 350 GSM Pearl Weave? Unheard of!! Nowadays, there's a plethora of lightweight kimonos on the market, even full ripstop choices. But have we forgotten where we came from? What happened to the heavyweights? Well, Inverted Gear hits us with a throwback to the old school, appropriately dubbed: Panda Armor. The 950 GSM jacket weave would warm Rickson's heart. And the 14 oz canvas pants? So sturdy that your training partners might give up establishing passing grips altogether. Fortunately, the weight isn't the only thing going for this one. It's rather comfortable and easy to move in, especially considering the fabrics, and has a modest, clean look. Inverted Gear logos sit in their usual places, embroidered in simple grey and white. Inside the cuffs and skirt, the familiar upside-down panda is accompanied by a long-sword. Knee reinforcements and the wide IG drawstring loops are found on the Panda Armor as you find them on all Panda Gis. The Armor is also equipped with a round cord drawstring and an exceptionally well-made collar. Keeping it traditional, Inverted Gear skipped the contrast stitching this time around. NOTE: Size A00 is for someone under 5'0" and under 110 lbs. |
